Job description

Refrigeration Technician

At Pilgrim's, the safety of our team members comes first, always. We are seeking a skilled and dependable Refrigeration Technician to support the operation, maintenance, and reliability of our refrigeration systems to join the team in Enterprise, AL. This position plays a critical role in ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently while supporting plant production and food safety standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor, inspect, and maintain refrigeration equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
  • Identify equipment deficiencies and prepare work orders for necessary repairs and corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate Process Safety Management (PSM) records and documentation.
  • Complete required reports and records in accordance with company policies and standard operating procedures.
  • Troubleshoot refrigeration system issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Support compliance with safety, environmental, and operational requirements.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of ammonia refrigeration or industrial maintenance experience required. Experience working with A/C and D/C control systems and with hydraulic and pneumatic systems preferred.
  • Skills: The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, along with the capability to accurately maintain technical records and documentation. This individual should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, and be comfortable standing and walking for extended periods throughout the shift. Flexibility is essential, including the willingness to work weekends, overtime, and respond to operational needs as required.
