We are seeking an experienced FSQA Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the Food Safety & Quality Assurance department in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment near the Atlanta Airport.
This role ensures that all production and quality activities meet or exceed company, customer, and regulatory standards with a strong focus on food safety, quality, service, and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Supervise FSQA department staff, schedules, and daily tasks to support production, shipping, and receiving.
- Maintain and verify HACCP, prerequisite programs, and Food Safety & Quality Plans according to SQF standards.
- Implement and manage the company’s Food Safety and Quality Systems.
- Conduct training for QA inspectors and production employees on food safety and quality protocols.
- Evaluate QA team performance and recommend corrective actions when needed.
- Maintain records in compliance with FDA, USDA, SQF, and company policies.
- Support the facility’s environmental testing program to ensure compliance with all standards.
- Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, and Warehouse teams to prevent and resolve quality issues.
- Manage product disposition for raw materials, in-process, and finished goods (test/approve/hold/reject).
- Assist with root cause analysis, supplier issues, and customer complaint resolutions.
- Support process improvements and plant trials as part of continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Nutrition, or a related field.
- HACCP and GFSI certifications required; PCQI preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of leadership experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or auditing.
- Strong knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations and food safety systems.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Bilingual (English & Spanish) strongly preferred.
Work Environment
- Cold, wet, and fast-paced food production environment.
- Temperature range: 34°F to 38°F.
- Exposure to noise, moving equipment, and cleaning chemicals.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs. for extended periods.
- QA employees may be exposed to laboratory chemicals; proper PPE is provided and required at all times.
