Position Summary

Reporting to the Shipping Supervisor, the Traffic Controller will be responsible for all daily tasks for the sheller and cold storage.

Position Responsibilities 

Sheller:
  • Keep trucks organized in parking lot, direct traffic on Jordan Street 
  • Inspect and blow out trailers; notify shipping lead of condition 
  • Inform shipping lead of how many vents are on the truck 
  • Direct driver to assigned dock 
  • Chock wheels, install brake line lock, jack stand on dropped trailers, confirm dock is locked on trailer, inform shipping lead 
  • Inform driver that the load is ready and safe to pull away from dock 
  • Seal trailer doors, send driver back to scale house 
  • On all transfer loads: Open and close doors on trailers, set jack stand 
Cold Storage:
  • Open doors on trailer 
  • Install wheel chock, brake line lock, jack stand 
  • Inform lift driver that the trailer is ready to lock in 
  • Confirm lock 
  • Inform truck driver that the load is ready and safe to pull away from dock 

Position Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred 
  • Customer service oriented with good communications skills 
  • Ability to work as part of a team. 
  • Physical dexterity. 
  • Willingness to work in shifts (late or early hours, weekends, and overtime if necessary). 
  • This role is performed on site at a facility that regularly processes peanuts Employees in this position will routinely work in areas where peanuts and related allergens are present and may be exposed by contact or in the air.
