Job Title: Construction Quality Control Manager

Job Description

This role oversees quality control for a federal construction project at NAS Pensacola, specifically focused on a fitness center. The Construction Quality Control Manager ensures all work meets federal standards, contract requirements, and safety regulations while coordinating closely with project stakeholders to deliver a high-quality facility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all quality control activities for the fitness center construction project at NAS Pensacola.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain the project’s quality control plan in alignment with federal construction requirements.
  • Inspect and verify that construction work complies with project specifications, drawings, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Coordinate and document all required inspections and tests, including preparatory, initial, and follow-up inspections.
  • Identify, document, and track nonconforming work, and ensure timely corrective actions and re-inspections.
  • Maintain accurate and organized quality control records, including reports, test results, and inspection logs.
  • Collaborate with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to resolve quality-related issues and prevent rework.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and support the implementation of OSHA 30 standards on site.
  • Participate in project meetings to report on quality status, issues, and improvements.
  • Promote a culture of quality and safety on the job site through consistent oversight and communication.

Essential Skills

  • Active Construction Quality Control Manager (QCM) certification.
  • OSHA 30 certification.
  • At least 5 years of experience in federal construction as a quality control professional.
  • Demonstrated experience managing quality control on federal construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of federal construction standards, specifications, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement quality control plans and procedures.
  • Solid documentation and reporting skills for inspections, tests, and nonconformance tracking.
  • Effective communication and coordination skills with project teams and subcontractors.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve quality issues promptly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Ideally holds a four-year degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience working on fitness center or similar facility projects is beneficial.
  • Ability to promote and support a strong safety culture in alignment with OSHA 30 standards.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple inspections, reports, and project deadlines.
  • Capability to work independently while collaborating closely with diverse project stakeholders.

Work Environment

This position is based on site at NAS Jax. The work environment involves regular presence on an active construction site, including exposure to outdoor conditions, construction equipment, and varying weather. The role requires adherence to all site safety protocols and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Work hours typically follow standard construction schedules, with potential adjustments based on project milestones and inspection needs. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
