Smooth hotel operations depend on having the right products, supplies, and inventory in the right place at the right time. As a Purchasing/Receiving Clerk, you'll support purchasing, receiving, and inventory operations while helping ensure hotel departments remain organized, stocked, and operationally ready every day.
This role is perfect for someone who's detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys hands-on operational work in a fast-paced hospitality environment. You'll help manage deliveries, inventory tracking, invoice processing, stock organization, and purchasing support across multiple hotel departments.

What you'll be doing

What you'll be doing

  • Receive, inspect, verify, and organize deliveries, inventory, supplies, food & beverage products, linens, and operational materials according to hotel procedures.

  • Review purchase orders, invoices, packing slips, and receiving documentation for accuracy and compliance with company standards.

  • Maintain organized storerooms, storage areas, inventory records, and operational supply spaces throughout the property.

  • Distribute products and supplies to hotel departments including Culinary, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping, Engineering, Banquets, and Operations teams.

  • Monitor inventory levels and communicate shortages, damaged items, discrepancies, or replenishment needs promptly to leadership teams.

  • Support purchasing operations through data entry, inventory tracking, invoice processing, reporting, and procurement coordination activities.

  • Assist with inventory counts, stock rotation, product labeling, and storage organization to support operational efficiency and compliance standards.

  • Maintain accurate operational records, receiving logs, inventory documentation, and purchasing files.

  • Follow food safety standards, sanitation procedures, OSHA regulations, inventory controls, and hotel operational policies at all times.

  • Coordinate closely with Purchasing, Finance, Culinary, Housekeeping, and operational leadership teams to support smooth hotel operations.

  • Help foster a collaborative, organized, and operationally focused culture aligned with Sonesta's People People philosophy.

  • Any other duties as assigned.

  • Previous purchasing, receiving, inventory, warehouse, hospitality, hotel operations, food & beverage, or administrative experience preferred.

  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and inventory accuracy.

  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

  • Basic knowledge of purchasing processes, inventory management, receiving procedures, and operational documentation preferred.

  • Experience using Excel, procurement systems, inventory software, PMS platforms, or operational reporting tools preferred.

  • Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills.

  • Positive attitude with a dependable, service-focused, and team-oriented mindset.

  • Knowledge of food safety standards, stock rotation practices, and operational compliance procedures preferred.

  • Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and operational support as needed.
