Little Learner Childrens Academy is a privately-owned childcare center. Join Little Learner Children's Academy as a Child Care Assistant Director, where you will play a vital role in supporting the Center Director in daily operations, curriculum oversight and staff management. Your efforts will help nurture the potential of young learners and shape their futures. We are looking for individuals who want to support working families while building their careers in early childhood. Join us in making a difference in the lives of children and their families.


We are seeking an Assistant Daycare Director Monday through Friday available during hours of operation from 6:30AM to 6:00 PM. There are some evening and weekend meetings and events the director is required to attend.


Locations: Bolingbrook - Crest Hill - Minooka Yorkville

Shifts From: 6:30am-6:00pm
Monday through Friday
Compensation: Starting at $45,000 (Commensurate with education and experience)


The ideal candidate meets the following requirements:


  • Associates Degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education
  • Knowledge of Preschool software such as ProCare, CRM, Food Program, IDHS Payments and parent communication apps.
  • Ability to support and manage staff.
  • Understanding of child care regulations and standards.
  • Able to stand for long periods of time, frequent walking, sitting on the floor and playing with children, being able to lift up to a 40 lb child in an emergency situation. This is a physically ACTIVE role.
  • Must pass all required background/criminal history checks.
  • Spanish- Speaking and writing is preferred

Education qualifications for Assistant Daycare Director per DCFS standards:


All child care directors shall have a minimum of an associate degree in child development or early childhood education, or the equivalent (defined as 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 semester hours of college credit in child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education) and either a Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential (http://www.ilgateways.com/en/illinois-directorcredential-idc) or 3 semester hours of college credit or 3 points of credential approved training in administration, leadership or management.


Assistant Daycare Director tasks include but arent limited to:


  • Supervises curriculum and age-appropriate activities for children.
  • Ensures the program is in accordance with all local child care licensing standards.
  • Supervises classroom curriculum and conducts classroom observations.
  • Implements procedures to ensure the program and facility comply with health and safety standards.
  • Coordinates ongoing staff development activities including staff meetings and trainings.
  • Welcomes all new families and staff to the center.
  • Organizes large school events (Pre-K Graduation, Book Fairs, fundraisers, etc.).


Assisting the director with:


  • Managing employee time cards
  • Conducting Monthly Mandatory Center Meetings
  • Attending Monthly Management meetings at HQ
  • Creating Staff schedules
  • Ensuring center is tour ready on a daily basis
  • Keeping a positive site work culture
  • Managing food program
  • Supervising DCFS compliance
  • Resolving parent/staff concerns
  • Managing parent tuition
