Job Summary

Direct and coordinates activities of production department(s) in processing of our polyurea coated parts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage production lines to meet safety, quality, and productivity goals
  • Manages labor and line density to achieve financial goals of line
  • Ensures daily customer production demands are met and communicated to customers. Ensures all dispositions are done with product for a daily/shift basis
  • Prepares and maintains all production reports to Production Manager
  • Troubleshoot and problem solve with other team members
  • Train, discipline and evaluate up to 25 direct reports.
  • Schedule the pick-up and delivery of parts with our customers
  • Analyzes production, quality control, maintenance, and other operational production problems and corrects or make recommendations for correction in a timely basis. Verifies that all MITS transactions are accurate and complete and verifies that all process card parameters are met
  • Maintains and updates visual production tracker boards and reviews daily with team members
  • Coordinates daily with Quality, Maintenance and all other functional areas to ensure adequate information flow
  • Maintain safe work environment; Ensures compliance with OSHA and Environmental regulations. Trains line leaders in such matters as safety and accident investigation. Confers with department heads concerning such problems as accident rates, and recommends and implements measures to improve safety records. Conducts all necessary safety, environmental, WWT, and 5(S) audits. Ensures data is entered into Metrics Tracking system.
  • Trains, evaluates, and coordinates with Human Resources on continuous development of staff. Performs performance reviews, and provides feedback to subordinates; resolves personnel grievances and recommends corrective actions; determines staffing requirements, work procedures and duty assignments.
  • Follow and maintain all proper safety procedures and utilize the appropriate personal protective equipment at all times
  • Relieve employees during breaks, lunches as needed in various job positions
  • Understand the emergency response procedures
  • Participate in programs to enhance our safety and environmental performance
  • Understand the significant environmental impacts of their work activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructions
  • Other tasks as directed by production manager

Qualifications Polyurea Process Management
  • Oversee all DragonHide spraying operations to ensure coating quality and consistency.
  • Monitor CAT-to-resin mix ratios and process parameters.
  • Investigate coating defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Optimize application processes to improve throughput and reduce rework.
  • Work closely with Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to resolve process issues.
Robotics Programming and Automation
  • Program, troubleshoot, and optimize robotic spray applications.
  • Modify robot paths and spray parameters to improve coating uniformity and cycle times.
  • Support implementation of process improvements and new product launches.
  • Analyze robotic performance data and recommend enhancements.
  • Coordinate with third-party suppliers and integrators on automation improvements.
Graco HFR Maintenance
  • Maintain and troubleshoot Graco HFR proportioning systems.
  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance activities.
  • Diagnose hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and fluid delivery issues.
  • Monitor system pressures, temperatures, and material flow rates.
  • Maintain maintenance records and spare-part inventories.
  • Coordinate major repairs and equipment upgrades when necessary.
Spray Gun Maintenance and Rebuild
  • Disassemble, clean, inspect, and rebuild spray guns.
  • Troubleshoot spray pattern issues and mixing deficiencies.
  • Replace seals, chambers, nozzles, and wear components.
  • Establish preventive maintenance schedules for all spray equipment.
  • Ensure spray equipment remains capable of producing consistent coating quality.
Quality Management
  • Ensure all coated products meet customer specifications.
  • Lead root cause investigations related to coating defects.
  • Develop and maintain standard work instructions.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions for quality concerns.
  • Support customer visits, audits, and containment activities.
Education and/or Experience
  • Associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Robotics, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience with polyurea, industrial coatings, paint systems, or related processes preferred.
  • Experience with robotic automation and programming required.
  • Experience maintaining Graco HFR systems strongly preferred.
  • Experience rebuilding and troubleshooting spray equipment required.
Physical Demands
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is required to walk and talk. The employee is required to be able to handle, feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand, climb, balance, twist, turn, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
