Product Marketing Managerย

About Upshopย

Upshop is the market leader in Total Store Operations solutions for the Grocery and C-Store markets. Our AI-powered SaaS platform connects Fresh, Center Store, eCommerce, DSD, inventory, forecasting, food safety, and task execution to create a simpler, smarter, and more connected store experience.ย Retailers using Upshop improve sales, reduce shrink and waste, strengthen food safety, andย operateย more efficiently across the store. More than 450 retail chain accounts trust Upshop across 30,000+ stores, 35+ countries, and three continents.ย

Overview of the Roleย

As a Product Marketing Manager at Upshop, you will help translate our products, marketย expertise, and customer value into compelling stories, content, and enablement that drive growth.ย This role sits at the intersection of Product, Marketing, Sales, Solutions Consulting, and Customer Success. You will develop positioning and messaging, support go-to-market initiatives, build sales and product enablement programs, and ensure customer-facing teams have the knowledge and content they need to confidently positionย Upshop'sย solutions.ย You will also help manage and scale our product marketing and enablement content ecosystem, ensuring teams can easily find, understand, and use the right content throughout the customer journey.ย The ideal candidate combines strong product marketing fundamentals with hands-on experience in sales enablement, content strategy, and cross-functional execution.ย

Responsibilitiesย

Positioning, Messaging & Go-to-Marketย

  • Develop compelling positioning, messaging, value propositions, and product narratives that clearly communicate the value and differentiation of Upshop solutions.ย
  • Partner with Product and cross-functional teams to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for product launches, enhancements, and strategic initiatives.ย
  • Translate complex product capabilities into clear customer outcomes, use cases, and stories tailored to key buyer personas and retail segments.ย
  • Develop customer-facing content including solution briefs, presentations, landing pages, blogs, thought leadership, case studies, and other strategic assets.ย
  • Connect industry trends, customer insights, product capabilities, and business outcomes to inform product marketing strategy.ย

Sales & Product Enablementย

  • Partner with Sales, Solutions Consulting, Customer Success, and Product toย identifyย enablement needs and knowledge gaps.ย
  • Develop sales enablement programs that build fluency and confidence acrossย Upshop'sย products, solutions, industries, competitors, and customer use cases.ย
  • Create andย maintainย enablement materials including pitch decks, discovery guides, talk tracks, objection handling, battlecards, product guides, competitive resources, and value-selling tools.ย
  • Support product enablement initiatives that help customer-facing teams understand new capabilities, how to position them, and the customer outcomes they enable.ย
  • Helpย establishย repeatable enablement processes around product launches and major product enhancements.ย
  • Partner with stakeholders toย measure enablementย effectiveness and continuously improve programs based on adoption, feedback, and business needs.ย

Content Strategy & Managementย

  • Helpย establishย and maintain a centralized, scalable content ecosystem for product marketing and sales enablement.ย
  • Own the organization, governance, maintenance, and lifecycle of product marketing and enablement content to ensure teams can easily find and use current, approved materials.ย
  • Identifyย content gaps, redundancies, and outdated assets and develop processes for ongoing content optimization.ย
  • Partner with Marketing and Revenue teams to improve content discoverability, adoption, and usage across the organization.ย
  • Helpย establishย standards for content taxonomy, ownership, version control, and ongoing maintenance.ย
  • Use content engagement and usage insights to understand what is working and inform future content development.ย

Market, Customer & Competitive Intelligenceย

  • Conduct market and customer research to understand buyer needs, pain points, priorities, and buying behaviors acrossย Upshop'sย target markets.ย
  • Support customer interviews and voice-of-customer initiatives to uncover insights that strengthen messaging, content, and go-to-market strategy.ย
  • Monitor retail technology trends and translate relevant developments into actionable insights for internal teams.ย
  • Supportย Upshop'sย competitive intelligence program by developing and maintaining battlecards, competitive comparisons, differentiators, and competitive positioning.ย
  • Partner with Sales and Solutions Consulting to capture field intelligence and incorporate it into competitive and enablement resources.ย

What Success Looks Likeย

Success in this role meansย Upshop'sย customer-facing teams are more confident, better equipped, and more consistent in how they communicate our value.ย

You will help ensure that:ย

  • Sellers can confidently positionย Upshop'sย products and solutions.ย
  • Teams understand not only what our products do, but why they matter to retailers.ย
  • Customer-facing teams have easy access to current, relevant, and effective content.ย
  • Product launches are supported by clear messaging and effective enablement.ย

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex products and technical concepts into clear, compelling customer value.ย
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills, particularly for sales and executive audiences.ย
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Customer Success, Solutions Consulting, and Marketing.ย
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and stakeholders simultaneously.ย
  • Customer- and outcome-oriented mindset with the ability to connect product capabilities to measurable business value.ย
  • Comfortable using data, feedback, and engagement insights to evaluate and improve programs.ย

Preferred Qualificationsย

  • Experience with sales enablement or content management platforms such as Seismic,ย Highspot,ย Mindtickle,ย Showpad, or similar technologies.ย
  • Experience with CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot.ย
  • Experience within retail technology, grocery, convenience, foodservice, supply chain, inventory management, or store operations.ย
  • Experience marketing SaaS or enterprise technology solutions.ย
  • Experience building or scaling enablement programs in a growing B2B SaaS organization.ย
  • Familiarity with content creation and design tools such as PowerPoint, Canva, Figma, Descript, or similar platforms.ย
