Job description

Do you want to be part of a team that has direct impact on the global supply chain, working with Fortune 50 companies, and developing facilities and workspaces for future generations?ย  This is where innovation meets practicality, where architects transform industrial spaces into hubs of productivity and sustainability.ย  Join our dynamic team at ISG, a leading architecture and engineering firm, as an Architect supporting our Food + Industrial Business Unit. Applicants should have enthusiasm for big picture strategy, developing relationships, and designing industrial, manufacturing, distribution, and food processing facilities.ย
As an Architect for ISG, you will be an Employee Owner working collaboratively with your fellow employee owners to develop creative solutions.ย  In this role, you will work directly with Mark Chambers, Senior Architect.ย  You will also collaborate with ISG internal resources for design and project collaboration, project execution, in-house engineering, specification writers, visualization specialists, and construction administrators.

Check out our portfolio!ย
We are looking to add your design expertise to continue supporting similar projects.ย
  • Collaborate directly with clients across all phases of the design process, including facility master planning, funding strategy, operational programming, and stakeholder presentations.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal teams and external partners to build high-performing project groups and identify new business opportunities in food processing, industrial and manufacturing sectors.
  • Communicate project goals, design standards, and operational procedures clearly with project managers and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment with industry regulations and client expectations.
  • Lead the development and coordination of project contract documents, including food safety compliance and industrial performance specifications.
  • Serve as a mentor and leader, modeling professionalism and industry expertise to support team development.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned, including support for process optimization, equipment layout planning, and regulatory documentation.
Regardless of your office, you will assist in winning and executing work within the Food and Industrial Business Unit throughout the entire ISG footprint. Because of this, travel may be necessary at times. These trips are usually 1-2 days and happen a few times a month.
We've listed a compensation range that reflects our expectations for this role, including both direct and indirect components.ย  We understand that your experience and value may fall outside of this range. If you feel you're a strong fit but your compensation needs differ, we're open to a conversation-let's talk.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited program, preferred
  • Licensed Architect with experience in food processing or industrial facility design, preferred
  • Proven ability to connect with clients and effectively promote ISG's integrated design solutions
  • Strong visual and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey ideas empathetically and clearly
  • Comfortable representing ISG and clients in public forums, stakeholder meetings, and industry events
  • Proficient in Revit, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp; familiarity with industrial design tools is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with diverse teams across various stages of development
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • Paid time off, pro-rated amount available on your start date
  • Paid holidays and paid volunteer time
  • Paid parental leave
  • Bi-annual profit sharing
  • Employee Ownership Stock Plan (ESOP)
  • 401K retirement plan
  • Life insurance
  • HSA and FSA options
  • Bereavement leave
  • Supplemental voluntary benefits
  • Short term and long-term disability
  • Parking reimbursement, varies on office location
  • Cell phone plan reimbursement
