Job description

Quality Assurance Technician

Location: Brockton, MA

Schedule: Monday - Friday 3:30pm - 12am (Rotating Saturdays)

Experience Level: Entry Level

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Quality Assurance Technician to support food safety and quality initiatives within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for conducting quality inspections, performing analytical testing, verifying compliance with food safety standards, and ensuring products meet established specifications throughout the production process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-process testing on products manufactured on continuous cooking equipment, including analysis of soluble solids, viscosity, and color.
  • Perform visual inspections and organoleptic evaluations to ensure product quality standards are met.
  • Audit production and packaging operations to verify compliance with HACCP, GMP, and food safety requirements.
  • Monitor product quality and food safety throughout daily manufacturing and packaging activities.
  • Verify packaging materials, labels, and printed films against approved specifications.
  • Review incoming raw materials and supplier documentation, including Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and Bills of Lading (BOLs).
  • Support annual raw material validation activities.
  • Identify, document, and communicate food safety or quality concerns, and assist with corrective action processes.
  • Perform environmental monitoring and equipment swabbing as required.
  • Provide quality support on the production floor and within the QA laboratory.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate effectively with production, quality, and management teams to support operational goals.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree in a scientific discipline with 1-2 years of industry or academic experience, or Bachelor's degree in a scientific discipline with at least 1 year of industry or academic experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role preferred.
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing or food processing environment is highly preferred.
  • Understanding of GMPs, HACCP principles, food safety programs, and quality systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and documentation practices.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
