Job description

Come join our team as a Preschool Kitchen Aide! This is a full-time, 35 hours per week position at Racker's Cortland Preschool.  The Kitchen Aide duties includes menu planning, preparing breakfast, snacks, and lunch for the classrooms.  Duties also include record keeping, ordering, and monitoring of all food preparation and activities in accordering with Child & Adult Food Program and NYS Dept. of Health regulations.  The position also involves cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, completing inventory, training and advising staff on safe food practices, and communication with children and families as needed.  All of these duties would be under the Supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor.  

Pay rate $17.75 per hour.


  •  Wash dishes in the Wilkins Rd Preschool kitchen
  •  Clean Wilkins Rd. Preschool kitchen
  •  Assist in food preparation-cutting, some cooking, set up/break done and clean up
  •  Deliver food to classrooms/pick up food carts from classrooms
  •  Assist in classrooms when needed
  •  Other duties as assigned
  •  Uphold standards of professionalism in regard to behavior and dress
 

Education/Certification: High School Diploma/GED 

Physical Requirements: ability to lift fifty (50) pounds, bend, stoop, kneel, run for short distances

Skills/Abilities: Good oral and written, interpersonal skills 

Knowledge: Thorough knowledge of food preparation techniques, interest in and knowledge of developmental disabilities, and a good knowledge of and experience in quantity food preparation
