Job description

A&G (Allen & Gerritsen) is seeking a rising public relations star to join our PR practice in Boston as a PR Supervisor and serve as the day-to-day lead on an exciting mix of client partnerships. This role will work within our Newsroom and lead earned media efforts and event execution for a diverse range of brands and organizations spanning categories including food & beverage, travel & hospitality, and CPG, among others. The Supervisor will be an integral member of a collaborative public relations, creator relations, and social media practice within a top independent, full-service advertising agency.

Note that A&G is a hybrid agency, and this role will be expected to collaborate in-person three days a week in our Boston ThirdSpace. Some client-related night and weekend events will also be expected, with built in time off following.

Craftsmanship

Continuously elevate the quality of our Newsroom to amplify business outcomes, drive exceptional agency output, and deliver an outstanding client experience.

  • Serve as a client relationship manager, managing day-to-day account activities with support of the broader PR team.
  • Lead media relations efforts for each account, building relationships with reporters/producers and securing business-purposeful media placements.
  • Lead the development of tailored PR strategies based on the understanding of clients' business objectives, target audiences, and competitive landscape.
  • Lead the planning and execution of client events and activations, with support of the broader account team and agency partners.
  • Regularly track and collaborate with Client Partnership Leads to report on performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations for continuous optimization.
  • Lead the ongoing tracking and consolidation of account OOP finances.
  • Support and implement crisis communications strategies as needed.

Curiosity

Proactively explore the evolving social media & creator landscape to enhance our partnerships and make our contributions to client relationships and the final work stronger.

  • Live "chronically online." Proactively and consistently stay connected to culture, trends, and inspiring content to ensure PR strategies resonate with both the clients' audiences and their business, and proactively raise new opportunities.
  • Lead research and development of weekly trend reports.
  • Lead ongoing research initiatives to identify, vet, and establish new tools, partnerships, and processes to expand our Newsroom capabilities.

Creativity

A problem solver to the core, you'll constantly seek new approaches to strengthen your work, ideas, and our teams at large - pushing against the conventional to spark action.

  • Collaborate with A&G colleagues across disciplines - including strategy, performance analytics, creative, production, business leadership, and program management - to develop and execute comprehensive marketing campaigns.
  • Support senior PR leads in identifying growth opportunities within existing accounts and assisting in new business development.
  • Bring a problem-solving lens to every project, pushing the team and clients to always look beyond standard approaches to find new ways of working and driving unignorable results.

Culture

You are a present and positive member of our A&G community, demonstrating our values and fostering an energizing and inclusive environment that transcends our walls.

  • Manage or mentor 1-2 direct reports (interns, Associates, Managers), taking an active role in their professional development and career pathing.
  • Assist in the onboarding of new talent and serve as a cultural ambassador for the PR practice within the wider agency.
  • Actively contribute to fostering a collaborative, high-performance, and inclusive agency culture.

Qualifications:

  • First and foremost, you are a media relations guru with experience driving successful earned media programs that have driven meaningful business results for clients.
  • You have 6-8 years of relevant consumer, CPG, travel, and/or social impact experience, while also craving diversity in account experience.
  • You have experience in agency land or on the client side in a fast-paced environment, leading multiple projects, lines of business, and growth areas simultaneously.
  • Writing is your superpower, particularly persuasive writing that has successfully been applied to draft media pitches/advisories, key messaging, bylines, and op-eds.
  • You're experienced in new business pitch rooms and are skilled at presentations - both developing written communications and confidently presenting to clients and senior leadership.
  • You're entrepreneurial in spirit. You respect established processes but are equally as excited about new challenges that haven't been approached before and building something new.
  • You love being a people manager and prioritize coaching and mentorship of junior team members. This point is last on the list in sequence but first in priority.

Why A&G?

  • Join a vibrant team that values creativity, innovation, and making a positive impact.
  • Work with a diverse range of clients across industries such as Travel, Tourism, Social Justice, Food & Beverage, Financial Services, Education, Economic Development, and Clean Energy/Sustainability.
  • Be part of a culture that encourages continuous learning, professional growth, and having fun while doing great work.
  • Collaborate with a team driven by insights, imagination, and tireless collaboration to create inventive brand experiences that evoke emotion, spur action, and create impact.
  • Help brands and people transform into the best version of themselves so they can live their purpose each day and positively impact the world.

We'd love to hear from you if you're ready to take your PR career to the next level and contribute to transforming brands, businesses, and communities. Apply today and let's create something amazing together.
