Food Packaging Sanitation Supervisor - 2nd Shift

The Sanitation Supervisor leads with compliance and leadership, ensures all cleaning and sanitizing activities in the facility are completed according to Master Cleaning Schedule (MCS), Customer requirements, Sanitation Standard Operating Procedure (SSOP), FDA FSMA Requirements, SQF and other 3rd party requirements.


Shift/Time: 2nd Shift 4:00pm-12:30am 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitates the cleanliness and sanitizing of both food contact surfaces and non-food contact surfaces.
  • Documents and signs off all cleaning activities and ensures cleaning meets requirements
  • Knowledge of different sanitation chemicals
  • 7 Mitigate Environmental results as needed
  • Liaison with Chemical Supplier
  • Performs all activities on Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) following all relevant standard operation procedures. 
  • Knowledge of different sanitation chemicals   Change to Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals
  • Implement 7 step cleaning methodologies, 7 Step Process of cleaning both wet and dry.
  • Ensures all lines and zones are cleaned, sanitized, disinfected passed inspection
  • Ensures ATP, allergen test and visual inspections pass after cleaning, at an acceptable level.
  • Ensure all lines and zones are cleaned, pass inspection, and sanitize meeting company and regulatory requirements 
  • Performs visual inspection, ATP swabs, micro swabs, and allergen testing
  • Keeps track of daily cleaning requirements according to production schedule and assigns daily activities to sanitation technicians
  • Supports SQF certification activities relating to sanitation and documentation
  • Monitors sanitation personnel activities and tracks work times and duties completed
  • Keeps all areas in the facility including outside grounds cleaned using the Master Cleaning schedule and as cleaning needs arise
  • Follows all Standard Sanitation Operational Procedures (SSOP)
  • Ensures all safety rules are followed during the sanitation process including making sure to follow Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO)
  • Helps with safety, food safety, Food Defense, Food Fraud, OSHA safety and other sanitation monitoring and reporting activities
  • Performs light mechanical activities such as disassembling and assembling food contact parts of the equipment
  • Uses power wash and compressed air to clean where appropriate
  • Follows all cross contamination and allergen, Organic and Gluten-Free protocols
  • Ensures all lines and zones are cleaned, sanitized, disinfected passed inspection
  • Ensures ATP, allergen test and visual inspections pass after cleaning, at an acceptable level.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

General:

  • Supervisor or lead experience in a food packaging or food manufacturing environment is preferred.
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Works well with little or no supervision
  • Experience with liquid fill process and machinery
  • Experienced with cleaning-out-of-place (COP) and cleaning-in-place (CIP)
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Maintains a high level of business courtesy and etiquette when interacting with supervisors, managers, and other employees
  • Demonstrated time management and multitasking skills
  • Willingness to work more hours as necessary
  • Experienced with product testing such as: PH, titratable acidity, solids, salt and viscosity
  • Bilingual in Spanish not needed but desired
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Education/Experience:

  • 2 years manufacturing wet/dry cleaning experience
  • Knowledge of basic cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing
  • General knowledge of production and packaging equipment, tools, and machines
  • Associate degree or High school diploma/GED
  • Ability to write, read and interpret manuals and technical documents such as SDS and equipment manuals

Soft Skills:

  • Ability to work in wet, cold, or hot environment
  • Ability to lift 75 lbs. or more
  • Knowledge and ability to use scissor lift, pallet jack and floor scrubber
  • Basic Knowledge of HACCP and Food Safety/cGMP

Math/Language/Reasoning Abilities:

  • Ability to solve basic math, adding and subtracting
  • Ability to solve problems independently
  • Knowledge of food contact cleaning and basic understanding of allergen cross contamination prevention and corrective actions.

  • None needed

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Indoors and outdoors, use of chemicals such as sanitizers and degreasers. Wet environment and physical activity which includes climbing, lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods of time.
