Sodexo is seeking an experienced Food Operations Manager 3 to join our team at Stamford Hospital, a 305-bed, not-for-profit community teaching hospital located in Stamford, Connecticut. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated food service leader to play a key role in supporting patient care and enhancing the overall dining experience within a respected healthcare organization.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Food Operations Manager 3 will help lead a team of approximately 75 union employees across three service lines, including patient dining and catering. This position will partner closely with hospital leadership and Sodexo management to drive operational excellence, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service.

What You'll Do
  • Oversee daily food service operations and ensure the delivery of a high-quality dining experience
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of approximately 75 union frontline employees
  • Support patient dining operations, including patient rounding and service recovery initiatives
  • Partner with the General Manager to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards
  • Maintain strong client and customer relationships through exceptional service and communication
  • Monitor operational performance and support achievement of financial goals and key performance indicators
  • Oversee cash handling and POS system compliance
  • Support employee training and development while reinforcing standard operating procedures
  • Ensure compliance with Sodexo food safety, physical safety, and quality assurance programs

  • Current ServSafe Certification required
  • Demonstrated success leading food service operations in a high-volume environment
  • Strong customer service focus and commitment to operational excellence
  • Strong food service operations leadership experience
  • Experience in healthcare food service preferred
  • Knowledge of patient dining programs and patient rounding
  • Experience working in union environments preferred
  • Familiarity with HealthTouch, EMR systems, or other patient meal management platforms
