Specialty Food Retail / Butcher / Prepared Foods / Store Operations

Meaty Eats / Meaty Meats is seeking a hands-on Retail & Fresh Foods Operations Manager to lead our customer-facing retail and fresh food departments across specialty food operations.


This role oversees store execution and operations, customer service, fresh foods departments and standards (butchery, bakery, prepared foods, grab-and-go, hot table, deli, dairy) specialty foods grocery, product freshness, rotation, waste, staff coaching, and food safety follow-through.


The ideal candidate has experience in specialty grocery, premium food retail, butcher shop, prepared foods, hospitality, foodservice retail, or store operations. You are organized, hands-on, customer-focused, supportive of your team, and comfortable managing a fast-paced fresh food environment.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading daily retail and fresh foods execution
  • Managing department standards and store readiness
  • Supporting supervisors and leads
  • Improving customer experience and service recovery
  • Monitoring product availability, freshness, rotation, waste, and shrink
  • Reinforcing food safety, sanitation, training, and operational discipline
  • Coordinating with production, logistics, QA, marketing, and shared services
