Job Title: Quality Inspector

Job Description

The Quality Inspector monitors production operations and processes to ensure products meet established standards and specifications. This role reviews technical requirements, oversees in-process activities, performs detailed inspections and tests, and identifies defects in goods and materials. The Quality Inspector also supports continuous improvement by providing feedback on process efficiency, equipment accuracy, and overall product quality.

Responsibilities

• Perform regular in-process audits to verify that production processes and products comply with established quality standards and specifications.
• Run required tests such as dimensional, impact, burst, crush, and other relevant or requested tests to validate product performance and conformance.
• Ensure all inspection and testing equipment is properly calibrated and perform daily plausibility checks, documenting results accurately.
• Maintain thorough and organized records of analyses, tests, audit results, and all related quality documentation.
• Lead quality training for new hires and provide ongoing quality training for production clerks to reinforce standards and procedures.
• Support production teams by troubleshooting quality-related issues on the lines and recommending corrective actions.
• Manage sample requests and returns, including handling and tracking field return samples for analysis.
• Support material trials by coordinating testing activities and documenting results for evaluation.
• Communicate quality issues, nonconformances, and trends clearly and promptly to production and quality assurance teams.
• Perform application testing in accordance with defined functional requirements to ensure products meet intended use.
• Gather, organize, and report testing metrics, including detailed bug and defect tracking, to support quality assurance activities.
• Coordinate and perform quality assurance activities for release cycles, ensuring readiness before products move forward.
• Manage and maintain test plans and test cases to meet defined testing objectives and coverage requirements.
• Ensure proper maintenance, readiness, and organization of QA test environments to support consistent and reliable testing.
• Perform incoming inspections on materials and components to verify they meet required specifications before use in production.
• Assist with test automation efforts by contributing to the design, execution, or maintenance of automated test scripts and processes.
• Perform QA inspections in the PAD Reject area to analyze rejected products, identify root causes, and support corrective actions.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with quality inspection processes, including in-process and incoming inspections.
• Proficiency using measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and other precision instruments for dimensional inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, complex construction plans, and technical specifications.
• Strong quality assurance and quality control knowledge, including understanding of inspection methods and documentation requirements.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities and manage deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail with a high standard of accuracy and organization in all documentation and inspection activities.
• Clear and effective communication skills for collaborating with colleagues across production and quality teams.
• Ability to write clear, structured reports using Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel, for reporting, tracking, and documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, aggressive construction or production environment.
• Knowledge of NSF standards and certifications and their application to products and processes.
• Strong ability to multitask, work independently under pressure, and meet tight deadlines.
• Ability to define and troubleshoot issues, analyze and interpret data, evaluate options, and recommend appropriate actions.
• Ability to create clear, concise test plans and test cases from written specifications or verbal instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience performing dimensional, impact, burst, crush, and related mechanical tests.
• Experience gathering and organizing testing metrics, including bug tracking, to support QA activities.
• Experience coordinating and performing QA activities for release cycles in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with maintaining QA test environments and supporting test automation efforts.
• Experience leading or delivering quality training to new hires or production staff.
• Working with assembly processes and measuring components in a manufacturing setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled production environment, where you will work in close proximity to manufacturing lines, testing equipment, and inspection stations. You will regularly use precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers, as well as other inspection and testing equipment for dimensional and mechanical testing. The environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring comfort working around machinery, materials, and active production processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Duncanville, TX.

The pay range for this position is $20.35 - $24.50/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Duncanville,TX.
