Job description

The Opportunity:
In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end operational execution of customer orders, from order receipt through delivery, for assigned customer accounts and business units. You will build strong relationships with customers and collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure products are delivered on time and in full.
You will play a key role in troubleshooting delivery issues, managing customer claims and deductions, and supporting continuous improvement across the order-to-delivery process. This position partners closely with Sales, Buyers/Brokers, Warehousing, Production Planning, Transportation, and other logistics partners supporting domestic markets.

Snapshot of a Day-in-the-Life:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Buyers or Brokers, managing day-to-day order, logistics, and inventory flow activities across assigned customer accounts
  • Process customer orders through the order management system
  • Proactively communicate with customers regarding shipment status, delays, or service issues
  • Collaborate with Transportation to determine the most efficient delivery methods to ensure on-time, in-full performance
  • Identify and proactively address out-of-stock or product shortage risks by monitoring inventory resupply and outbound order timing
  • Monitor shipments in transit and resolve logistical issues to minimize service impacts
  • Act as a liaison for all post-sale customer communications
  • Manage customer claims and returns, balancing customer requirements with business objectives
  • Validate claims, support customer negotiations, and collaborate with plants and distribution teams to address root causes and escalate issues when required
  • Execute price discrepancy reporting and create debit/credit notes as needed
  • Partner with Demand Planning, Sales, and customers to address order-to-forecast variances
  • Participate in projects and process improvements to resolve short- and long-term customer service challenges
  • Develop and maintain customer profiles and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
  • Work closely with the Sales Director to support customer strategies and logistical requirements
  • Prepare short reports and open order reports
  • Support customer service performance metrics, including fill rate and service level targets
  • Ensure inventory allocations are executed accurately
  • Share knowledge and best practices with team members

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred; recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • At least one year of experience in customer service, client support, or a related role
  • Exposure to supply chain, logistics, warehousing, or inventory management is an asset
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a customer-focused mindset
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn new systems
  • Experience with SAP is considered an asset
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and collaborative working style
  • Ability to take initiative and independently prioritize work
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Effective negotiation and issue-resolution skills
