Job description

Responsibilities
  • Working knowledge of restaurant business, menu planning, food and entertainment trends, and basic room set‑ups and capacities.
  • Strong passion for culinary excellence, wine knowledge, and service.
  • Determine, develop, and execute action plans for existing and new target accounts to exceed sales revenue expectations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers, community organizations, and professional associations to maintain visibility and market share.
  • Continually target and prospect new business through individual creativity and innovation.
  • Create and implement sales strategies to maximize hotel profits while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Analyze competition, market trends, and customer needs to assess productivity against established goals.
  • Strategically evaluate revenue potential of clients relative to hotel goals to ensure profitability.
  • Develop a sales strategy using historical, current, and future hotel/market trends.
  • Communicate and enforce contractual agreements for meeting space, food & beverage, and special concessions.
  • Review all client bills for accuracy and timeliness to maximize return business.
  • Assist in design and implementation of custom menus.
  • Maintain documentation of events, changes, and special requests with updated Banquet Event Orders, group resumes, and rooming lists.
  • Provide accurate information to all departments.
  • Communicate event details to operations staff: food & beverage needs, audiovisual requirements, function room set‑up, billing, recreation, activities, décor, etc.
  • Organize site visits, pre‑planning visits, pre‑con and post‑con meetings.
  • Effectively upsell products and services during the pre‑event planning phase to maximize profitability.
  • Proven ability to take on and successfully complete projects, meet deadlines, and deliver quality results.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of similar work experience.
  • Passion for food & beverage.
  • Post‑secondary diploma or degree (a plus).
  • Advanced knowledge of food & beverage operations.
  • Strong leader with a proven track record in guest and team member engagement and financial performance.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexibility and willingness to meet the demands of a 24‑hour operation.
