Job description

Practice Endodontics. Save Teeth. Build an Exceptional Career.

At Gentle Dental, we're seeking a Part-Time General Dentist who has a passion for endodontic treatment and wants to dedicate the majority of their practice to root canal therapy and related endodontic procedures within the scope of general dentistry in California.

Whether you've developed advanced endodontic skills through continuing education or simply enjoy performing root canals, this is a unique opportunity to focus your practice on the procedures you love while benefiting from the support, technology, and patient base of an established multi-specialty organization.

You'll work alongside General Dentists and Specialists in a collaborative environment, receiving a consistent flow of internal referrals while maintaining the clinical autonomy to provide exceptional patient care.

Office Location

  • Gentle Dental Community SF - 2494 Mission Street, San Francisco, CA 94110

Why Join Gentle Dental?

Our vision is to provide exceptional, lifelong, integrated oral healthcare services that improve the health and well-being of the communities we serve.

We combine the advantages of group practice with clinical autonomy, allowing our doctors to focus on patient care while we provide the operational support, technology, and resources needed to succeed.

  • Flexibility to customize your schedule
  • Established patient base with immediate production opportunities
  • Clinical autonomy within the scope of general dentistry
  • Collaborative, multi-specialty practice environment
  • Modern technology supporting endodontic diagnosis and treatment
  • Experienced clinical and operational support teams
  • Opportunities for continuing education and advanced clinical development

  • Endodontic diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Emergency endodontic treatment
  • Pulpotomies and pulpectomies
  • Management of endodontic emergencies and dental pain
  • Core buildups following endodontic treatment
  • Collaboration with specialists for complex retreatments, apicoectomies, or other cases requiring specialty care

Patient scheduling will be structured to maximize efficiency while allowing sufficient clinical time for high-quality endodontic treatment.

Schedule

  • Requires 1 day per week with flexibility to add additional days based on the desired schedule of the Doctor.

Compensation & Benefits

Competitive percentage of production rates in the mid-30's

Benefits include:

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Additional Pre-Tax Retirement Savings Plan
  • Life Insurance
  • Short-Term and Long-Term Disability
  • Malpractice Insurance
  • Continuing Education Allowance
  • Additional CE Opportunities
  • Partial California License and DEA Reimbursement after two years
  • Employee Assistance Program

Qualifications

  • DDS or DMD from an accredited dental school
  • Active California dental license (or ability to obtain prior to employment)
  • Current DEA registration, CPR certification, and NPI
  • Demonstrated experience and confidence performing endodontic procedures
  • Commitment to evidence-based dentistry and exceptional patient care
  • Excellent communication and treatment planning skills
  • Interest in building an endodontic-focused practice

Why This Opportunity Is Different

Unlike a traditional General Dentist role, this position allows you to spend the majority of your clinical time performing the procedures you enjoy most.

You'll benefit from:

  • A steady stream of internal referrals from an established network of providers
  • The opportunity to develop and maintain advanced endodontic skills
  • Modern clinical technology that supports predictable outcomes
  • Operational support that allows you to focus on delivering exceptional patient care
