Job Description Summary:

Provides clinical support to health care professionals to ensure the delivery of quality health care services.
Provides clinical support to physician practices to ensure the delivery of quality health care services in Physician Practice.
Serves as a clinical subject matter expert in the practice.
Trains new clinical staff if 2+more years of experience.
Leads and promotes clinical quality and safety standards.
May attend MA Academy training to gain clinical experience before placement into ambulatory care site if MA training was obtained in Career Tech or Military Program, or unable to pass MA competencies.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or EquivalentAND one of the following:
*Completion of HS MA Career Tech Program, School of Medical Assisting, Military Medic training, Paramedic training or 1 yr on-the-job training in like practice
*Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program with medical assisting focus
*Military healthcare training
*LIFE SUPPORT \ Basic Life Support (BLS)within In 120 days of hire

Responsibilities And Duties:

Facilitates efficient and effective patient flow including preparing thepatient for the visitand providingspecific services as determined byproviders in accordance withproviderlicensure, OHpolicyand scope of practice.
Successful completion of Care Connect EMR documentation skills.
Performs necessary administrative duties that assure all information is current and updated. Includes maintenance and monitoring of EMRin basket.
Maintains and cleans environment, work area, equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriatedept/unit personnel.
Communicates with patients and customers in a respectful and caring manner.
Communicates, collaborates, and anticipates the needs of the health care team to ensure continuity and quality of care and coordination of services.
Collects andmonitors patient data; reportspatient data and patient need as directed.
Maintainsdocumentation guidelines aroundpatient chargeable items/services.
Ensuresprocesses and services are continuously monitored for quality, cost effectiveness,and efficiency.
Engages in process and quality improvement activities. Makes and implements recommendations to improve operational efficiency and to implement new services for areas of responsibility.
Engages in continuous study of the entire professional field, including best practices, to maintain the professional competence, knowledge, and skills necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.
Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
Promotes and advocates for patient quality, safety,and experience initiatives.Acts as a role model.
Serves as SME/resource to thedept/unit/practice in areas such as quality, performance improvement, andEMR(i.e., EPICSuper User).
Has oversight of efficient and effective patient flow including preparing the patient for the visit/admission and providing specific services and education as determined by the providers in accordance with licensure and policy.
Leads and supportsdevelopment ofstandard work and developsnecessary customizations.
Functions as a clinical preceptor and is responsible for training new staff.
Is compliant with scope of practice.
As a High Reliability Organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality and efficiency in performing job duties.
