Job Summary:
Qnetic is a company focused on enabling the transition to clean, sustainable energy through innovative energy storage solutions. The Technical Writer will develop documentation for certifications and permits related to Flywheel Energy Storage Systems, ensuring regulatory compliance and facilitating communication across various teams.
Responsibilities:
• Understand our systems well enough to communicate with external parties.
• Communicating with certifying agencies.
• Overseeing document flow for certification process.
• Setting standards for documentation for company-wide use.
• Develop documentation required for permitting, interconnection, and AHJ approval:
• UL 9540 Documentation Packages
• NFPA 855 Compliance Guidance
• Product Datasheets
• Technical Data Sheets
• Installation Manuals
• Commissioning/Decommissioning Manuals
• Operation & Maintenance Manuals
• Controls Integration Manuals
• Emergency Management Guidance
• Develop & maintain internal technical documentation
• Engineering Configuration
• Change Management
• Product Release Documentation
• Coordinate information generating exercises across electrical, mechanical, software, product, and operations teams to develop content required for the above documents
• Stay abreast of the energy storage code cycle and impacts on product documentation requirements
• Provide reliable portfolio roadmaps to leadership to inform new product timelines.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3+ Years of direct technical writing experience in energy storage or power generation market
• Experience creating documentation aligned with regulatory standards (UL/CSA, IEC, CE, NFPA, etc.)
• Proficiency in modern documentation creation platforms & methods
• Ability to read and interpret engineering schematics (P&ID, 1-lines, block diagrams, etc.)
• Strong understanding of document structure, change management, and revision control
• Exceptional attention to detail and formatting
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in clear and concise language for non-specialists.
• Familiarity with renewable energy & energy storage permitting process
• Ability to obtain a Chinese business visa
