  • Electrical Systems: Efficient with design, review, and installation of low  and medium voltage electrical systems; ensure hazardous area classification requirements are met; review electrical drawings.
  • Documentation & Standards: Own and maintain the instrumentation and controls documentation library including as built drawings, P&IDs, instrument data sheets, and control narratives; develop and enforce site standards for documentation quality.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Provide technical leadership and structured development for Technician I and II personnel; deliver coaching and identify training needs; act as a subject matter expert for operations and engineering teams.
  • Safety & Compliance: Champion site safety culture; lead JSA development and pre job safety briefings for high risk tasks; participate in incident investigations and corrective action development; ensure ongoing compliance with company HSE policies, OSHA regulations, and API standards.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements in maintenance workflows, calibration practices, and control system performance; contribute to capital project scoping and execution.
  • Culture: Embody Flywheel values — lead by example, foster accountability, and build a culture of excellence and continuous learning. Act as a culture carrier for the Automation & Controls team.

  • Experience with Allen Bradley (Rockwell Automation), Siemens, or ABB PLC platforms including online program modification.
  • Advanced SCADA platform experience (Ignition) including project level configuration and scripting.
  • Associate degree or higher in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or a related technical field.
