Position Title: Relationship Manager (Loan Officer)
Salary Information:
$80,000+ commensurate with experience and qualifications

Position Summary:
Colonial Farm Credit is an agricultural credit cooperative (www.colonialfarmcredit.com). We currently have an excellent employment opportunity for an experienced Relationship Manager in our Central Region territory, primarily covering the Virginia counties of Charles City, Chesterfield, Fluvanna, Gloucester, Goochland, Hampton, Hanover, Henrico, James City, King William, Louisa, Mathews, Middlesex, New Kent, Newport News, Powhatan, York.
This role focuses on developing and managing strong customer relationships while delivering sound credit solutions tailored to agricultural and rural lending needs. The ideal candidate is a motivated business developer who thrives in a relationship-driven, community-focused environment.
The position will:
โ€ข serve present and prospective member customers with sound short-term, intermediate-term, and long-term loans according to Association and district policies, standards, and procedures
โ€ข formulate business development strategies that target potential Farm Credit member customers, as well as referrals from builders, realtors, and other sources
โ€ข service an assigned loan portfolio within delegated authorities
โ€ข represent Colonial Farm Credit at community, industry, and networking events
โ€ข promote related services to all current and prospective member customers and provide strong support to the Regional Lending Manager while serving as a key resource and mentor for less experienced staff

Education, Experience, and Requirements (things you need to be successful):
1. Bachelor's degree in agricultural field (agricultural economics preferred), finance, or economics
2. Agricultural lending or related experience preferred 5 years plus
3. Residence in territory served by the Central Region or contiguous counties
4. Familiarity of the service area
5. Strong interpersonal, sales, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
6. Strong analytical, judgment, and communication (oral and written) skills
7. Computer experience with strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
8. Attend networking opportunities and community events to build influencer relationships and foster business development
9. Ability and aptitude to:
a. be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions
b. effectively manage multiple tasks and work independently
c. travel to/from prospective and current customers as well as industry functions
10. Registration (current registration or ability to successfully register) with National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). This process requires fingerprinting; however, licensing is not required.
11. Acceptable background reports (credit, criminal, driving, and drug) must maintain a valid and current driver license.
12. Other: Ability to sit for long periods of time. Ability to stand for limited periods of time. Ability to walk for moderate distances. Frequent finger/hand manipulation (e.g. keyboard, office equipment, small hand tools, etc.). Occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling while exerting up to 50 pounds of force. Regular attendance is required in this job.
