Job description


Position Summary:
The successful candidate will help to perform various laboratory tasks and experiments as needed. This includes preparing media for cell growth, generating recombinant DNAs (e.g., plasmids, PCR products), mammalian cell culture, and performing experiments that involve fluorescence microscopy.

Required Job Qualifications:
Previous experience working with recombinant DNA techniques (e.g., primer design, PCR, plasmid purification, minipreps...).
Preferred Job Qualifications:
Previous experience with mammalian cell culture.
Essential Duties:
(1) Generate reagents for experiments (e.g., media for cell growth, buffers, etc).
(2) Assist with cleaning lab space, including washing and autoclaving lab glassware.
(3) Midiprep plasmid DNA for experiments and transfection of cells.
(4) Checking supplies for cloning and cell culture and ordering new supplies when they are running low.
