Job Description The Construction Engineering Manager (CEM) IV provides oversight for all engineering activities on mega projects or key, strategic projects. Establish and execute the construction engineering program, including the exchange of engineering information among the client, design engineer, and company project team; ensure effective communication and the addressing and tracking of needs, requirements, and issues Manage the construction engineering department including staffing and supervising the activities and performance of the department; provide guidance to, as well as training and development of, construction engineering personnel Interpret the intent and requirements of the design documents; ensure design drawings are reviewed for completeness and constructability; and ensure drawings are marked-up and information provided as required for the preparation of as-built drawings Participate in pre-construction planning efforts during the Front End Engineering Design (FEED) and development phases of projects, including the coordination and implementation of the constructability review program Other duties as assigned Basic Job Requirements Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and twenty (20) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to twenty-four (24) years if non-degreed; some locations may have additional or different qualifications in order to comply with local requirements Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner Other Job Requirements Prepare all Fluor and/or client requisitions and job descriptions required for staffing open positions located within his/her organization Stay current with technical developments in area of expertise through continuing education, conferences, and periodicals, and continues to develop in-depth specialization Provide recommendations for salary increases and promotions for construction engineering staff Act as interim Construction Manager/Site Manager, if required Participate in Fluor University and other avenues for self development and the development of the construction engineering staff Preferred Qualifications Construction Management degree or global equivalent Typically has twenty (20) years of field project experience Thorough working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures Advanced computer and software skills to include the use of word processing and email as well as the advanced use of spreadsheets and electronic presentations Excellent oral and written communication skills We are an equal opportunity employer.
