Civil Engineering Project Manager, Energy, San Antonio, TX
Halff has an opening for a Civil Engineering Project Manager, with their Texas PE License, to support our growing Energy practice. This position will be based out of our San Antonio, TX office and will require travel between local client offices. The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 5 years of experience with natural gas infrastructure and be able to coordinate with clients and customers. What will you do:
  • Natural gas pipeline design.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to design and develop energy projects, considering factors such as cost, efficiency, safety, and environmental impact.
  • Evaluate and recommend suitable materials, equipment, and technologies for energy-related applications.
  • Participate in feasibility studies and risk assessments for new energy projects.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and environmental guidelines in all energy-related projects.
  • Optimize processes to enhance energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.
  • Conduct periodic performance evaluations and prepare reports for clients and stakeholders.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in chemical engineering and energy-related technologies.
  • Work closely with the Energy group leaders in developing the growth strategies for the team.
  • Review and check the work of team members.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships within the industry.
  • Responsible for on-site visits as necessary to attend meetings and develop or maintain client relationships.
  • All other duties as assigned.

What you will need:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree (Civil, Chemical, Industrial preferred).
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Must have a minimum 5 years of experience in the natural gas industry.
  • Civil 3D experience preferred
  • Technical leadership and mentoring experience.
  • High-level of interpersonal relationship, communications, facilitation, team building, collaboration skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be a self-starter who has the willingness and ability to strengthen and develop relationships with new and existing clients through both face-to-face and remote means.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • In-depth knowledge of chemical engineering principles, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and reaction kinetics.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve complex engineering challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical information effectively to team members and clients.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of project management principles to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on developing sustainable and environmentally friendly energy solutions.
  • Continuous learning and adaptability to stay current with emerging trends and technologies in the energy and chemical engineering field.
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer.
