POSITION SUMMARY:
The Floral Designer at Hive Collective is responsible for advising customers on suitable floral arrangement selections and handling floral production from start to finish. This includes floral clerical tasks and plant maintenance. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, maintains design versatility, and stays up to date with floral design industry trends.
Seeking a Seasonal Part-Time or Full-Time Floral Designer.

POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
Client Experience & Sales
  • Provide a positive client experience by being friendly, intuitive, and informative.
  • Welcome clients with sincerity and enthusiasm to create a warm and memorable experience.
  • Maintain an active floor presence, demonstrating openness and availability.
  • Proactively address and resolve client concerns with care.
  • Handle client floral requests in-store, by phone, or email, and ensure timely delivery.
  • Complete checkout processes with accuracy and efficiency.

Floral Design & Production
  • Ensure floral design production aligns with Hive's standard of excellence.
  • Advise customers on floral care and maintenance.
  • Maintain proper watering and storage of plants to prevent wilting, diseases, or pest infections.
  • Follow Hive's brand standards for selecting and arranging flowers.
  • Consult with clients to customize floral arrangements based on preferences and specifications.
  • Lead event processes from start to finish as delegated.
  • Ideate simple to complex event details and close clientele concept pitches.
  • Create digital, on-brand mood boards and develop floral and supply lists within budget and project scope.

Event & Project Collaboration
  • Collaborate with interior designers on special projects as delegated.
  • Help out our floral team with large events from ordering to installation.

Workplace Maintenance
  • Assist with keeping all workspaces clean, safe, and organized, including cleaning buckets, floral boxes, trash breakdown, and recycling.

  • Reaching above the head and shoulder level.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel for extended periods on hard surfaces.
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs using appropriate techniques.
  • Ability to maneuver around the floor, warehouse, and cash wrap.
  • Ability to accurately judge color values.
  • Must work effectively in environments with dust, pollen, and particulates.
