Job description

Fresh Support, Inc., is looking for a friendly, self-motivated, independent worker for the merchandising of floral and food & beverage products at a local Target store in the area.

Job Summary:

  • Our merchandisers are responsible for the stocking and maintenance of floral and food and beverage products in local Target stores. Our merchandisers help drive sales and promote integrity by ensuring high-quality, fully stocked displays. All employees are hired on an “at-will” basis

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Pull products from each store’s designated area in the back room and bring them to the display/sales floor
  • Check for bad flowers; check products for sell-by-date expirations or other defects. Check plant soil and water if needed
  • Monitor inventory levels
  • Display safety signs
  • Clean all surfaces of the display and follow standards and schematics
  • Clean floor around the display of any spilled water, soil, and debris.
  • Communicate and give reports via company-approved communication apps, including taking pictures to be uploaded to our reporting app with a smartphone. This includes: the displays before service, remaining back stock of floral and food and beverage products, any damaged items, the display after the service, vendor portal sign in/out.
  • Communicate to store management regarding the status of the displays when finished
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Although extensive travel is not required, the job is merchandising in several different store locations. More extensive travel may be required on occasion.

License/Certification:

  • Current Driver's License and current auto insurance

Work Location: In person at your local target Store

Job Types: Part-time Monday Wednesday Friday about 5 hours a week

Employees' mandatory no time off requests (will be on normal schedule, just can't request time off):

02/09 - 02/15 for Valentines Day 

04/01- 04/04 and 04/05 the Easter Holiday, No work on Easter

05/04 - 05/11 for Mother’s Day.

11/25 & 11/28 for Thanksgiving

12/17 - 12/18 in anticipation of Christmas

12/21 - 12/23 for Christmas

12/26 After Christmas

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of retail merchandising best practices

  • Creativity and a knowledge of how to best present products

  • Education and Experience:

  • Some experience with merchandising, retail sales, or floral work preferred

  • Valid Driver’s License required in most locations. There are certain designated metropolitan areas where public transportation negates an employee’s need of an automobile and driver’s license.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time

  • Must be able to use/willing to learn to use a pallet jack and flat cart

  • Must have the ability to sit, stand, kneel, bend, and reach to complete assigned tasks
