Pay Range: $16-17/hour

Job Summary
We are seeking a creative, organized, and experienced Floral Designer & Sales Assistant. The ideal candidate blends design talent with sales skills. You will be responsible for crafting stunning floral arrangements for daily sales while top-tier customer service. Experience in arrangements, weddings, events, and funerals or at least one of these is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing: Arranging bouquets, vases, corsages, sprays, urns etc. for various occasions. This includes constructing custom designs based on client preferences, budgets, and specifications.
  • Inventory & Care: Selecting and ordering fresh flowers, plants, and hard goods from wholesalers. Ensuring proper handling, watering, conditioning, and storage (refrigeration) of flowers to prevent wilting.
  • Retail Sales & Customer Service: Assisting/selling to walk-in customers and telephone/internet orders. Providing advice on flower selection, maintenance, and pricing.
  • Store Maintenance & Merchandising: Maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Managing orders and coordinating timely deliveries, processing flowers, cleaning shop, and taking out boxes/trash.
  • Operational Duties: Processing payments using point of sale (POS) systems. Creating engaging, and clean displays to attract customers and promote seasonal items.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • REQUIRED Experience: 1+ years of experience in floral design and 1+ years of work preferably in a flower shop or wedding/event design setting.
  • Design Skill: Ability to design to picture or recipe.
  • Technical Skill: Good with computers or willing to learn.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to work under pressure during high-traffic holidays.
  • Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods, work in varying temperatures (coolers), and lift up to 20-30 lbs (cleaning, breaking down boxes, taking out trash, lifting buckets of flowers with water, heavy plants).
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent

Salary/Compensation: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
