Floral Manager Overview

Oversees the Floral Department of the store to ensure that all budgeted financial objectives and departmental product quality and presentation standards are achieved to promote optimal opportunity for sales. Ensures that all corporate and state sanitation procedures and regulations are met.  Supervises and directs the work of Floral Teammates within the department. Works closely with the Produce Team Leader to ensure adherence to policies regarding floral operations, merchandising and training. Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers. 

 Responsibilities

  • Manage day to day Floral Department operations.
  • Ensuring the proper supervision of Floral Department Teammates.
  • Responsible for appropriate scheduling and staffing of Floral Department to satisfy business needs.
  • Ensure that all Floral Teammates adhere to all Federal and State laws, as well as all corporate policies and procedures related to safety/sanitation.
  • Responsible for the hiring, training, and development of all Floral Departmental Teammates.
  • Documents performance issues, and recommends disciplinary actions as needed.
  • Ensure that all Floral Teammates in the department follow company dress code.
  • Ensure that each associate provides the highest level of fast, friendly, and efficient customer service.
  • Understands and follows the corporate code of conduct
  •  Responsible for monitoring, controlling and achieving pre-established financial results set forth for the department
  • Ensuring that products are displayed as per Corporate planograms and special programs
  • Expressing a complete knowledge of department products to the customer
  • Ensure that proper shelf  and display conditions are adhered to
  • Ensuring proper stock levels of items, especially sale items
  • Ensure proper item rotation
  • Ensure the department conforms with all corporate, Federal, and State signing policies and regulations.
  • Responsible for observing local market conditions and competitive activity relating to Floral Departments and keep store management and floral merchandising informed.  
  • Responsible for ensuring the delivery of floral arrangements upon customer requests. 
  • Ensure quality and freshness of all fresh flowers and live plants. Perform other related duties as assigned by management and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned. 
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age. 
  • Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow-through to achieve desired results and objectives. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Satisfactory performance reviews. 
  • Strong communication skills.
  • High School Degree or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of related experience. 

Physical Requirements

  • Frequent lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching and climbing.
  • Ability to work in a store environment.
