Job description

Overview

Job Summary Responsible for on-the-job training including side-by-side training for assigned new hires and retraining transferred existing employees in designated area(s).

  • Work with hires until they are capable in their own positions and are proficient enough to be on their own. Be available to educate and answer any questions or concerns as they arise.
  • Provide feedback to appropriate supervisor.
  • Coordinate and conduct daily stretches.
  • Educate hires on the importance of reporting lost or damaged equipment and following procedures.
  • Demonstrate how to properly use job equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Participate in creating standardized training approaches and materials.
  • Enforce and comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Monitor new hires' work practices for safety and quality workmanship.
  • Maintain training records and required documentation.
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required to identify training needs.
  • Accountable for departmental retention goals.
  • Must maintain consistent attendance record and be available for work Monday through Saturday on a regular basis.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications (Required):

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • 3-6 months prior training experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Demonstrated desire, ability and potential to train and motivate assigned employees to improve job performance and production capacity.
  • Demonstrated knife experience (usage and sharpening).
  • Knowledge of jobs in designated training area(s).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Diploma or GED.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in Spanish (speaking, reading, writing).
  • Prior training experience in a meat/food processing facility.
  • Potential to be a future lead or foreperson.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to personally achieve expected safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Ability to establish and maintain interpersonal relationships - develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time.
  • Ability to actively listen - give full attention to what other people are saying, take time to understand the points being made, ask questions as appropriate, and not interrupt at inappropriate times.
  • Demonstrated ability to convey information effectively, willingness to learn, and be coachable.
  • Ability to use computer to complete paperwork and reports.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.

Work EnvironmentThis job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, desk phones, and smartphones. The position will also be required to regularly visit production facility work environments.

America's Heartland Packing is set to open its doors in early 2025. The 775,000 sq. ft. greenfield project will include a harvest floor, carcass chillers, fabrication area, rendering, further processing area, storage coolers, freezers, and loading docks.
