Job description

Program Summary
The Deltahawk Engines SkillBridge Aircraft Technician Program provides transitioning service members with hands-on experience in aircraft maintenance, modification, and flight test support within a fast-paced engineering and certification environment.
Participants will work alongside experienced A amp;P mechanics, engineers, and flight test personnel to support real-world aircraft integration programs. This program is designed to translate military aviation and maintenance experience into civilian certification and development operations.
Training Objectives amp; Responsibilities
Participants in this program must be able to successfully perform the duties and responsibilities listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position. Other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of aircraft systems (engine, airframe, avionics, and electrical)
  • Support aircraft modifications and prototype installations for experimental and certified programs
  • Participate in ground and flight test operations, including pre- and post-flight inspections
  • Learn proper documentation practices for aircraft maintenance and configuration tracking
  • Contribute feedback to engineering teams on installation, accessibility, and maintainability
  • Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and attention to detail in all work performed
Required Qualifications
  • Active-duty service member eligible for the Department of Defense SkillBridge Program
  • Background in aviation maintenance, mechanical systems, or related military occupational specialty (MOS/AFSC/Rate)
  • Strong work ethic with a “can-do” attitude and willingness to learn
  • Ability to follow procedures and work within a structured team environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and data tracking

  • Military aviation maintenance (rotary or fixed wing)
