POSITION SUMMARY

The Cook I supports daily food production by preparing high-quality menu items in accordance with standardized recipes, production schedules, and food safety requirements. This role is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented culinary professional who thrives in a fast-paced, early-morning aviation catering environment.

Reports To: Chef / Sous Chef / Executive ChefSchedule: 4:00 AM - 12:30 PM
  • Flexibility required based on business needs, flight schedules, and peak seasons
  • Airline catering operates in a 24/7 environment; weekends and holidays may be required
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Prepare food items according to standardized recipes and production plans
  • Execute batch cooking using proper tools and measurements (scales, scoops, etc.)
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation throughout the shift and at close
  • Accurately complete food safety and quality (FSQ) logs in real time
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations
  • Monitor waste and assist with waste log tracking for quality and cost control
  • Communicate shortages, discrepancies, or quality concerns to leadership
  • Collaborate with Prep Cooks, Helpers, and culinary team members to meet production needs

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS
  • English proficiency required (ability to read recipes, instructions, and safety documentation)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
  • Prior cooking or food production experience preferred (1 year ideal)
  • Ability to work early morning shifts and rotating schedules as needed
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Valid Food Handler Certification (e.g., ServSafe) required or ability to obtain
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship
  • Airline catering or high-volume production experience is a plus
