Job description

Job Title: Sales Development Representative

Location: Flexpak Office- Phoenix, AZ

Manager: Mark Howard, Business Development Manager

FLSA: Exempt (Salaried)

Base Salary: $60,000-$70,000

Compensation (salary + commissions): $60,000-$90,000+

Commission: Eligible for performance-based commission tied to defined KPIs

Position Summary

This position is based out of Phoenix, AZ and is responsible for engaging, retaining and growing customer accounts through proactively contacting customers to solution their packaging needs.

The Inside Sales Representative will contribute not only to sales execution but also to the ongoing development and refinement of team processes, operating rhythms, and customer engagement standards to improve consistency, responsiveness, and overall commercial effectiveness.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a high volume of outbound calls and targeted prospecting activities to drive pipeline growth and increase market penetration
  • Own and grow assigned sales territories by proactively identifying, developing, and closing new business opportunities within designated markets.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships through consistent outreach, follow-up, and value-driven engagement.
  • Maintain consistent communication with sales reps regarding lead status, account activity, pipeline progression, and follow-up actions.
  • Research target accounts using CRM data, industry insights, and market intelligence to prioritize high-potential prospects.
  • Provide market feedback and prospect insights to Sales Leadership to support pricing strategy, product focus, and territory planning.
  • Consistently meet or exceed defined outbound activity, pipeline creation, and conversion KPIs.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Sales Support, Operations, Purchasing) to ensure timely follow-up and customer responsiveness.

Required Skills & Competencies

Sales & Communication

  • Strong verbal communication skills with confidence engaging customers by phone.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct high-volume outbound prospecting and cold calling in a metrics-driven environment.
  • Ability to overcome objections and move opportunities forward with confidence and professionalism.
  • Proven ability to build relationships quickly and develop long-term customer partnerships.
  • Strong follow-up discipline with a sense of urgency around quote conversion and revenue capture.

Organization & Execution

  • Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage an active sales pipeline with measurable stage progression.
  • High level of accountability and follow-through.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to execute against defined territory growth goal

Business & Technical Acumen

  • Comfort working in a metrics-driven sales environment.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Teams).
  • Ability to quickly learn Flexpak’s products, services, and internal systems.

Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of inside sales or outbound business development experience required.
  • Prior experience in B2B sales, distribution, packaging, or industrial products is a plus.
  • Must be able to work full-time onsite at the corporate office (this is not a remote or hybrid role)
