Job description

Safety amp; Training Manager - Job Description:
• Recruit new potential drivers through various job sites (Indeed, Paycor Recruiting, etc.).
• Interview potential drivers that are qualified with previous experience (3 years CDL and 2 years "P" endorsement).
• Complete drug and alcohol tests on new drivers and random drivers from random consortium, per DOT guidelines.
• Perform road tests on new potential drivers and as needed for driver training.
• Complete orientations for new drivers and prepare driver qualification files per DOT guidelines.
• Review logs for accuracy and record start and end times on ELD log sheet.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings with drivers that need additional training on logs, safety practices, or our ‘Pillars of Success’ guidelines
• Random spot checks for proper pre-trip and post-trip procedures.• Complete quarterly safety inspections of all vehicles. (Triangles, fire extinguisher, safety window stickers, and safety videos)
• Review cameras if needed for safety concerns*.
• Complete any incident paperwork, when necessary, from accidents. Investigate cause and correction. Report to Lancer insurance if required.
• Provide video content on weekly basis for every driver to review and complete feedback.
• Keep drivers focused on our “Every BODY is Counting on Me” and “I Always Drive Safely” mottos.
Required Skills amp; Qualifications:
* Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations
* Experience wit fleet operations or transportation safety
* Strong understanding of driver behavior, coaching, and compliance enforcement
* Proficient in software for logging (Samsara, Keeptruckin, or similar)
* Excellent organizational and communication skills
* Investigative and problem-solving skills
Education amp; Experience:
* High school diploma or GED(Required); college degree in transportation, safety, or logistics (preferred)
* 2+ years in a safety, fleet, or transportation supervisory role
* CDL Class B or A (held for 3 years)
* Passenger Endorsement (3years of experience)
Certifications

*Smith System Defensive Driving Instructor
*Certified Director of Safety (CDS)
