Your Impact
  • Leads design of traffic engineering projects or traffic design tasks under larger projects
  • Prepares plans for signing/striping, lighting, traffic signals, ITS, and intersections
  • Prepares plans for Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) for large‑design build projects
  • Performs basic traffic simulation/modeling using HCS, SYNCHRO, CORSIM and VISSIM
  • Prepares traffic impact analysis and other related traffic reports
  • Reviews construction plans, design calculations, specifications, and cost estimates to ensure completeness, accuracy, constructability, and conformity to local standards or best engineering practices
  • Writes strong reports and maintains quality assurance and quality control through development and review of construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Prepares project reports and feasibility studies
  • Works as a team player with all staff levels
  • Leads aspects of project pursuit teams and participates in the development of project proposals and/or interviews
Who You Are
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • 6+ years of traffic engineering design and operations experience
  • Professional Engineer License required; Utah license desirable
  • Ability to build and maintain strong client relations through finding new project work, contract negotiations, and project delivery
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD/Civil3D and/or Microstation/OpenRoads Designer; proficient in Microsoft Office, Synchro, and Bluebeam
  • Knowledge of UDOT Standard Drawings & Specifications, Highway Design Manual, and various local municipal design standards
  • Ability to support project pursuits, including development of proposals, presentations, and interviews
  • Advanced technical writing and communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with strong relationship building

Work Environment
