Title Assistant Professor of Clinical Anatomy, Cell Biology & Physiology Specific Title Assistant Professor of Clinical Anatomy, Cell Biology & Physiology Appointment Type Clinical Track Faculty Department IUSM - Anatomy, Cell Biology & Physiology Campus IU School of Medicine Indianapolis Position Summary
The IU School of Medicine (IUSM) Department of Anatomy, Cell Biology & Physiology (ACBP) is seeking wellqualified and highly motivated applicants for a clinicaltrack faculty position in the department. Successful applicants for this education-focused position must have a PhD and/or MD degree. Competitive candidates will have a significant background in teaching the anatomical disciplines (i.e. gross anatomy, histology, embryology, and/or neuroanatomy) to medical and health professional students. Additional responsibilities will include overseeing the department's outreach mission, which provides anatomy- and physiology-based science outreach for K-12 and post-secondary students from across Indianapolis, Indiana, and neighboring states. An active research program is not a requirement for the position, though those who have background in and ability to mentor graduate and health professional students in medical education projects is ideal. The IUSM is committed to advancing outstanding educational delivery in an integrated environment of basic science and clinical care.
Faculty must be highly collaborative and eager to work in interdisciplinary teams across fields and participate in the entire educational mission of the department. Opportunities exist for collaborations in course development across the School of Medicine and IU-Indianapolis campus and throughout Indianapolis, including the areas of anatomy, physiology, embryology, histology, and neuroanatomy. The successful applicant will have opportunities to engage in relevant service opportunities with the department and school. Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis; start dates are flexible.
