Job description

Mobile RV Service Technician

We are seeking experienced Mobile RV Service Technicians to join a rapidly growing roadside service network focused on supporting RV owners throughout Florida. This is an opportunity for independent, customer-focused technicians who enjoy working in the field, solving problems, and controlling their earning potential.

Unlike traditional shop environments, technicians operate independently, manage their own schedules within their service area, and are compensated for both their labor and travel. The company is actively building a statewide network with plans for national expansion, creating significant long-term growth opportunities for the right individuals.

What You'll Do

As a Mobile RV Service Technician, you will travel directly to customer locations to diagnose and repair a variety of RV, motorhome, and roadside service issues. Most repairs are focused on getting customers back on the road quickly and efficiently.

Common service calls include:

  • RV electrical system diagnostics and repairs
  • Air conditioning and HVAC troubleshooting
  • Plumbing repairs and water system diagnostics
  • Appliance repairs
  • Generator troubleshooting
  • General RV maintenance and repairs
  • Emergency roadside service calls
  • Basic chassis and diesel-related repairs

What We're Looking For

We are open to technicians from a variety of backgrounds, including:

  • RV Technicians
  • Diesel Technicians
  • Heavy Equipment Technicians
  • Marine Technicians
  • Automotive Technicians
  • Mobile Service Technicians

RV experience is preferred but not required. Strong diagnostic ability, customer service skills, and the ability to work independently are more important than direct RV experience.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of mechanical, electrical, or diagnostic repair experience
  • Strong troubleshooting abilities
  • Comfortable working independently in the field
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Valid driver's license
  • Reliable personal vehicle suitable for mobile service work
  • Own tools required
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment

Compensation

This is a 1099 Independent Contractor opportunity.

Compensation includes:

  • Starting rates typically around $50/hour
  • Experienced technicians can earn up to $70/hour
  • $1.00 per mile reimbursement
  • Toll reimbursement and approved travel expenses
  • Guaranteed minimum earnings of $1,000 per week
  • Typical annual earnings of $100,000+
  • Top-performing technicians regularly earn $3,000-$5,000 per week
  • Peak performers can earn $5,000-$7,000 per week

Service territories are flexible and may range from 50 to 250+ miles depending on technician preference and market demand.

Training & Support

New technicians receive:

  • Dispatch software training
  • Mobile invoicing and ticketing training
  • Administrative onboarding support
  • Ongoing assistance reviewing work orders and invoices during the first 90 days

Schedule

This is a 24/7 emergency service operation.

Technicians should expect:

  • After-hours and emergency service calls
  • Flexible scheduling where possible
  • Consistent year-round work
  • No significant seasonal slowdowns due to Florida's large RV market

Why Join?

  • High earning potential
  • Flexible territory coverage
  • Paid mileage and travel-related expenses
  • Independence and autonomy in the field
  • Year-round demand
  • Opportunity to grow with a company building a nationwide service network
  • Leadership team that understands the trades and prioritizes technician success

If you're a self-motivated technician looking for an opportunity to earn well above traditional shop wages while building a long-term career in a growing industry, we'd like to hear from you.

About Rockstar Mechanics

Rockstar Recruiting started in 2018 over a breakfast meeting between two recruiters, introduced through a mother-in-law. By the time the eggs arrived, it was clear they both shared a passion for recruiting, had similar beliefs as to how the job should be done, and most importantly, each had a problem that the other could solve. The company has continued to grow: millwrights and fire protection recruiting were added to with dedicated recruiters on each team. Through the company’s growth, the team has remained true to their goals of doing the job the right way.
