Job Title: Mechatronics & Robotics Apprentice (MRA)Job Description

The Mechatronics & Robotics Apprentice (MRA) role offers a hands-on opportunity to develop and apply electronic, mechanical, computer, and automation engineering skills in a high-performance manufacturing environment. You will work alongside experienced technicians and journey workers to learn how to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair complex automated packaging and distribution systems while maintaining high levels of safety, reliability, and process efficiency. Through structured on-the-job learning, mentoring, and exposure to advanced automation and robotics facilities, you will build the technical and professional capabilities needed for a long-term career in mechatronics and robotics.

Responsibilities
  • Support the installation, maintenance, and repair of automated packaging and distribution equipment under the guidance of journey workers and senior technicians.
  • Learn to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair complex high-performance manufacturing systems to maintain and improve process efficiency.
  • Assist in conducting preventative maintenance activities on time and to a high standard to maximize equipment availability.
  • Follow safety regulations, procedures, and policies at all times to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Complete work based on technical documents, blueprints, and instructions while adhering to relevant provisions and safety regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Apply basic risk management principles when working with electrical, mechanical, robotics, and material handling systems.
  • Communicate effectively with team members, mentors, and upstream and downstream operations partners to coordinate work and minimize disruptions.
  • Learn and apply electrical and mechanical troubleshooting techniques on robotics, conveyors, and other material handling equipment.
  • Assist in reading and interpreting measurements, blueprints, and electrical schematics to perform maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Demonstrate reliability, self-motivation, and a willingness to learn new technologies and procedures in a fast-paced environment.
  • Work flexible schedules, including weekends, nights, and holidays, as required to support operations.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma.
  • 1+ years of PC software experience, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Vocational or technical training, an associate degree or above, or 1+ years of Reliability Maintenance Engineering (RME) experience.
  • Experience troubleshooting and repairing operational items in an industrial, technical, or similar environment.
  • Knowledge of mathematics to support measurement, calculations, and technical problem-solving.
  • Experience with measurement reading and interpretation for mechanical and electrical tasks.
  • Ability to read and follow technical documents, blueprints, and instructions.
  • Basic maintenance skills, including the use of hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and the ability to work in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Ability to perform mechanical troubleshooting on equipment and systems.
  • Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting on basic circuits and components.
  • Exposure to robotics and automated systems in a production or maintenance setting.
  • Experience with material handling equipment such as conveyors.

Work Environment

Work schedules can include weekends, nights, and holidays to support continuous operations. You will use a variety of tools, measurement devices, and computer systems, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, while working around electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. The organization provides lightweight fire-resistant daily wear and composite toe safety shoes as part of the required safety attire, reinforcing a strong safety culture and compliance with established safety procedures.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55120.00 - $55120.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
