SUMMARY:
We are currently seeking a Staff Nurse to join our Nurse Telehealth department.
This position is a 0.8 FTE (8 shifts/ pay period), 8-hour shifts, Evenings, Every Other Weekend.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Telehealth Staff Nurse is accountable for independently providing indirect patient care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year via telecommunications technology. The Telehealth Staff Nurse, within the domain of Ambulatory Care Nursing, provides remote nursing care to a variety of patient populations (Medical, Surgical, OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Geriatrics, and Behavioral Health) across the life span. The Telehealth Staff Nurse is guided by use of nursing process and use of evidence-based telephone nurse triage protocols and their nursing clinical expertise to determine the most appropriate level of care at the most appropriate time for the patient's reported medical condition or concern. This determination of appropriate care includes home care instructions.
The Telehealth Staff Nurse is also responsible for completing medication refill requests and assisting community pharmacies with any requests related to HHS patients.
The Telehealth Staff Nurse will adhere to established Hennepin Health System (HHS) Policies, Procedures, and Protocols and in accordance with the scope of practice for a Registered Nurse.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 2 years of experience working in the HHS Nurse Line department
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • Possession of a valid license as a Registered Nurse issued by the State of Minnesota

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual skills
  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Nursing
