Job description

Job Title: Senior MEP Engineer (PE - Texas) | Division Lead

Location: Remote (Work from Home) with Required Travel

Company: GreenWorks Engineering & Design

Position Overview

GreenWorks Engineering & Design is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Licensed Professional Engineer (PE - State of Texas required) to establish and lead our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) division.

This is a unique opportunity to build a division from the ground up in a flexible, work-from-home environment, while playing a critical leadership role in the company's growth. The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with an entrepreneurial mindset and leadership capability.

Key Responsibilities

Division Leadership & Growth

  • Build, develop, and lead the MEP division from inception
  • Establish design standards, workflows, and QA/QC procedures
  • Recruit, mentor, and manage future MEP team members
  • Work closely with company leadership on strategic growth initiatives

Engineering & Design

  • Lead the design of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems across various project types
  • Prepare and review plans, specifications, and calculations
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable codes and standards (IBC, NEC, ASHRAE, etc.)
  • Coordinate with internal and external design teams

Project & Client Management

  • Manage projects from concept through construction
  • Serve as Engineer of Record for applicable projects in Texas
  • Communicate directly with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality standards

Business Development

  • Assist in proposal development, fee estimates, and client presentations
  • Identify opportunities to expand MEP services
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships

Minimum Requirements

  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas (REQUIRED)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related engineering discipline
  • 8+ years of MEP design experience
  • Proven experience managing projects and coordinating across disciplines
  • Strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and/or other design software

Work Environment

  • Remote / Work-from-home position
  • Travel required for site visits, client meetings, and project coordination as needed
