Location: Remote (Contiguous United States)

About the Opportunity: Sterling Engineering's client, a pioneering leader in the energy sector and innovator in advanced reactor technology, is looking for a Digital Platform Architect to join their organization. This is a stable company at the forefront of the nuclear industry, offering a collaborative environment focused on long-term digital thread objectives and the future of clean energy infrastructure.

Job Duties:
  • Translate O&M service models into comprehensive IT platform and tool requirements, bridging the gap between business operations and technical systems.
  • Define integration needs across OT (plant data), EAM (maintenance), ERP, and PLM systems to ensure a seamless flow of information.
  • Recommend optimal platforms and integration approaches that align with established enterprise architecture and long-term digital goals.
  • Define data flow concepts such as lifecycle traceability and asset configuration to support robust digital thread objectives.
  • Evaluate and select tools such as AVEVA, Maximo, and Oracle, supporting vendor discussions and developing recommendation packages for leadership.
  • Define event-driven workflow requirements, ensuring critical data moves efficiently from plant alerts to actionable work orders.
  • Coordinate cross-functionally across initiative leadership, O&M services, IT, and external vendors to achieve project milestones.
  • Support implementation planning and the transition from pilot phases to full-scale readiness for reactor operations.
  • Ensure adherence to Quality Assurance regulations and standards, including 10 CFR 50 Appendix B and NQA-1.
  • Support digital twin concepts and long-term traceability to enhance the reliability and safety of nuclear energy assets.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field (Advanced degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in industrial IT systems, engineering systems, or O&M environments.
  • Proven experience with enterprise systems integration involving PLM, ERP, EAM, or OT platforms.
  • Strong understanding of digital thread, digital twin, and lifecycle traceability concepts within highly regulated industries.
  • Working knowledge of platforms such as Aras, Oracle Fusion, Maximo, or AVEVA is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex business models into technical requirements and integration strategies.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead vendor discussions and coordinate across multidisciplinary internal teams.
  • Must be eligible to work under Department of Energy (DOE) regulation 10 CFR Part 810.
