Job description

Baggage Services Agent/Ramp - PT Time
Department: Baggage Services Office
Reports to: Baggage Services Manager
Location: JFK, New York

Our focus of expertise is Passenger Service, Operations, Load control, Ramp & Turn-Around Coordinator, Ticket & Sales, Baggage - Lost & Found.


Responsibilities:

  • Receiving calls from passengers, customer airlines, handling agents, courier services.
  • Handling passenger calls in respect of delayed, damaged or pilferage reports or lost property items.
  • Updating or amendment of World Tracer files for passengers / customers and ensuring files are up to date with.
  • Processing baggage for re-flight or delivery.
  • Communicating and sending tracer messages to relevant Airports to trace passenger baggage.
  • Regular monitoring of World Tracer action files.
  • Be enthusiastic about offering assistance where needed in all areas of passenger services
  • Adhere to PAHS uniform guidelines and codes of conduct.
  • Work in a team environment.


Requirements:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 Year of age.
  • Previous airline/aviation operational knowledge preferred.
  • Capable of lifting 70 lbs. comfortably.
  • Must be available and flexible to work variable shifts including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time at the baggage counter area.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write in English proficiently.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment medical.
  • Must pass random drug test.
  • Must pass a 10-year background check as required by US Customs.


Benefits:

  • $21.25 an hour to start
  • $5.55 an hour HTA (Medical Supplement) or Employer Sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision & Life
