This role sits at the intersection of risk governance, strategy, and execution, offering direct exposure to senior leadership and key decision-makers. The ideal candidate brings deep credit expertise, strong leadership presence, and the ability to translate complex risk topics into clear, actionable insights.

What You’ll Do:

  • Establish forward-looking credit risk strategy by identifying emerging economic, market, and competitive risks
  • Review and assess the organization’s most complex credit exposures, including counterparty risk, capital strength, liquidity, and business models
  • Direct underwriting oversight and collateral risk management across lending and investment activities
  • Develop and maintain credit risk policies, limits, procedures, and governance frameworks
  • Provide clear, decision-ready credit risk reporting to executive leadership, risk committees, and regulators
  • Chair the Credit Risk Committee and drive effective governance, escalation, and oversight
  • Lead, mentor, and develop high-performing credit risk professionals
  • Foster a strong risk-aware culture across the organization
  • Support strategic initiatives, new product reviews, and evolving portfolio strategies

What We’re Looking For:

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in credit risk management within financial services
  • 5+ years in leadership roles overseeing credit risk teams or functions
  • Strong expertise in credit underwriting, secured lending, collateral structures, and risk governance
  • Deep understanding of financial institution balance sheets, products, and risk models
  • Experience with fixed income, money market, mortgage, and derivative instruments
  • Ability to partner cross-functionally while confidently driving change
  • Exceptional communication skills with experience presenting to senior leadership and regulators
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree and professional certifications (FRM, CFA) preferred

Why This Role?

  • High-impact leadership position with enterprise-level visibility
  • Opportunity to shape credit risk strategy during a period of growth and evolution
  • Strong executive exposure and influence on organizational direction
  • Collaborative, mission-driven culture with long-term career runway

If you’re a credit risk professional ready to step into a strategic, visible leadership role, we’d love to connect.
