Prep Crew – Fresh N Fit Cuisine
Position Overview The Prep Crew member supports all kitchen production by preparing ingredients, following recipes accurately, and ensuring all meals meet Fresh N Fit Cuisine’s quality and consistency standards. This role requires strong attention to detail, willingness to complete weekly compliance paperwork, and the ability to think ahead to keep production running smoothly. Prep Crew members must be comfortable tasting food during production to ensure flavor accuracy and quality control.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Production
Prepare ingredients according to standardized recipes, weights, and portion guidelines.
Execute daily prep lists with accuracy and efficiency.
Taste food items during production to ensure flavor, seasoning, and quality meet company standards.
Maintain consistency in cuts, measurements, and batch preparation.
Support cooks and the Head Chef with production tasks as needed.
Compliance & Documentation
Complete weekly compliance paperwork accurately and on time.
Record temperatures, batch yields, and prep logs as required.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and labeling procedures.
Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow all SOPs.
Quality & Standards
Ensure all ingredients meet freshness and quality requirements.
Report any inconsistencies, shortages, or quality concerns immediately.
Follow brand standards for flavor, texture, and presentation.
Teamwork & Communication
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to meet production timelines.
Communicate proactively about prep needs, low inventory, or workflow issues.
Support a positive, respectful, and efficient kitchen environment.
Forward Thinking & Problem Solving
Anticipate upcoming prep needs based on weekly menus and production volume.
Identify potential bottlenecks and adjust workflow to stay ahead.
Offer suggestions for improving prep efficiency or recipe execution.
Qualifications
Previous prep crew or kitchen prep experience required.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes precisely.
Comfortable tasting food during production for quality control.
Ability to complete compliance paperwork accurately and consistently.
Forward thinker with strong organizational and time‐management skills.
Ability to work in a fast‐paced, high‐volume kitchen environment.
Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work in hot, cold, and fast‐paced environments.
