Job description

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Program Evaluation
    • Distribute required course, clerkship, and elective evaluation forms to students.
    • Collect data from student evaluations of courses, clerkships and electives using appropriate software and/or web-based applications.
    • Download, clean, and archive course, clerkship, and elective evaluation data for program evaluation purposes.
    • Prepare reports and other supporting materials for OME, faculty, and curricular committees in a timely manner.
    • Develop methodology (and produce detailed, step-by-step instructions for same) to facilitate the efficient collection, analysis, and archiving of evaluation data, and the distribution of evaluation reports.
    • Respond to ad hoc requests for evaluation information by culling reports from respective databases.
    • Assist the Director of AEQI in designing new and revising existing evaluation forms, and in developing questions and instruments for special purpose surveys and focus groups.
    • Recommend and help develop ways to improve all AEQI processes and products.
    • Analyze data using quantitative and qualitative methods, as needed.
    • Provide analytic and logistical support to the Program Evaluation and Curriculum Improvement Subcommittee (PECIS).
    • Other related duties, as assigned.
  • Student Evaluation of Teaching
    • Distribute required instructor evaluation forms to students.
    • Collect data from student evaluations of faculty and non-faculty instructors (including lecturers, small-group facilitators, and clinical teachers).
    • Download, clean, and archive instructor evaluation data.
    • Maintain complete and accurate databases (in Excel and Einstein's electronic evaluation system, which is currently one45) of instructors for courses, clerkships and electives.
    • Assist the Director of AEQI in the release to course directors, clerkship directors, education deans, of teaching reports for distribution to individual instructors in their programs.
    • Flag under-performing instructors based on low ratings and concerning student comments; send associated teaching reports to supervisors so that remediation/coaching can occur.
    • Maintain and update the database of flagged instructors, and notify the deans when repeat flags occur.
    • Provide aggregate teaching reports based on ad hoc requests from faculty going up for promotion, and to facilitate working groups in the review of candidates for and the selection of winners of teaching awards.
    • Other related duties, as assigned
  • CQI (Continuous Quality Improvement) and Site Comparability Programs
    • Interpret, summarize, and produce reports based on evaluation data (including patterns and trends) using a combination of data visualization and narratives.
    • Distribute reports to appropriate stakeholders.
    • Interpret reports provided by course and clerkship directors for CQI efforts.
    • Collect and track CQI plans.

Student Assessment Data
    • Conduct qualitative analyses and produce reports based on learner assessment data from courses, clerkships, and longitudinal educational programs.
    • Manage the collection of patient log data (i.e., conditions and procedures observed or performed by medical students) for the clerkships and produce summary reports based on the data.
    • Assist the Director of AEQI in mapping the institutional competencies and the methods by which learners are assessed.
    • Review performance data from in-house multiple-choice exams for compliance with guidelines established by the Competency Based Medical Education and Student Assessment subcommittee (CBME) and the Course Directors subcommittee.
    • Provide reports to course directors and the Competency Based Medical Education and Student Assessment subcommittee on the quality of multiple-choice questions and exams.
    • Recommend solutions to bring flagged test items into compliance.
  • Medical Education Research
    • Assist the Director of AEQI in the analysis of data for ongoing research projects.
    • Coordinate with the Director of AEQI, the education deans, and faculty in the development of new research projects.
  • Dashboards
    • Prepare a dashboard using data from the Graduate Student Questionnaire (GQ) for review by OME deans and directors, and present same at various meetings of the Medical Education Council committees.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors Degree and 2-3 years of related experience is required.
  • Proficiency using statistical software, e.g., SAS, STATA, and MS Excel (at least 2016) required;
  • Knowledge of programming languages, e.g., SQL, Orace, R, Python, are a plus;
  • Effective oral and written communication skills in one-on-one conversations and groups;
  • Develops effective written communications and uses them appropriately;
  • Interacts and pro-actively shares information with internal and external contacts where appropriate;
  • Develops effective relationships with peers, students and employees;
  • Assumes responsibility to ensure issues/concerns will be addressed and monitors them through conclusion;
  • Identifies, defines and analyzes information and situations before recommending a course of action;

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is listed below. Albert Einstein College of Medicine considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
Minimum Salary Range
USD $66,300.00/Yr.
Maximum Salary Range
USD $72,000.00/Yr.
