Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) to join our team at Nashville Brain Counseling Center. In this full-time remote role, you will provide essential mental health services to senior clients with various emotional and psychological needs. Work Environment

This position is entirely remote, providing flexibility to manage your schedule while ensuring high-quality outreach to clients. You will work closely with our outpatient office team, collaborating through digital platforms to develop treatment strategies and care plans. Regular virtual meetings and tele-therapy sessions enable you to engage effectively with both clients and fellow professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed assessments of senior residents' mental health to identify specific care needs and ensure tailored therapeutic interventions.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that address emotional issues related to aging, such as depression, anxiety, grief, and life transitions.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams, including physicians and social workers, to create comprehensive care plans aimed at enhancing the mental well-being of geriatric patients.
  • Educate families and caregivers on best practices to support clients' emotional wellness and quality of life throughout their aging process.
  • Provide specialized grief and loss counseling to those and their families experiencing end-of-life concerns.
  • Implement cognitive stimulation and mental health programs designed to enhance cognitive clarity and emotional resilience among seniors.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary client focus is seniors, many of whom may be facing complex emotional and psychological challenges due to aging. Your therapeutic work will support older adults navigating significant life changes, health concerns, and the emotional impacts of grief and loss. This role requires empathy, understanding, and culturally sensitive practices to build trust and rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
  • Current Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
  • At least 4 years of relevant experience in mental health counseling, particularly with older adults.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for mental health treatment and interventions suited for the elderly population.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills tailored towards effective interaction with seniors.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with counseling techniques specifically addressing aging concerns and mental health issues.
  • Familiarity with ethical and legal standards governing senior mental health counseling.
  • Training in specialized interventions for grief and loss, cognitive behavioral therapy, or positive psychology.
  • Proficiency with telehealth platforms and virtual therapy delivery methods.
Compensation and Benefits
