Job description

This is a rare opportunity.

An impactful position at a profitable, stable, self-funded studio.

 And you? You're a digital 2D artist.

Your language is color theory, perspective, composition, rendering, anatomy, sketches, ideation, concepts, rendering, polish. You create backgrounds, obstacles, props, buttons, characters, logos, icons, panels, and more. Each piece as beautiful as time allows.

You're flexible, iterative, and quick.

You listen carefully to discover what the team needs from the art. You collaborate with openness. And you're excited by working on a portfolio of 30+ mobile games that touches tens of millions of players.

If this resonates, then we need your help bringing joy to others, one game at a time.

Responsibilities

  • Create high quality, professional art that makes our games beautiful
  • Creatively ideate, from first sketch to final polish
  • Collaborate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Work with timeliness, quality, and adaptability
  • Communicate timelines, own tasks, and contribute to successful sprints
  • Embrace using AI to achieve "more, better, faster"
  • Relate to our motto: "Slow Down to Speed Up"

Qualifications

  • A portfolio demonstrating a strong grasp of art fundamentals (color theory, perspective, design, anatomy etc)
  • B.A. or B.S. in a relevant field (or equivalent studio experience)
  • 0-5 years of professional art/illustration (mobile experience or games is not required)
  • Expertise with Photoshop & Illustrator (Figma is a plus)
  • A growth mindset that embraces continuous learning
  • Passion for evergreen games that reach tens of millions

A Little Bit About Us:

Most studios would be grateful to have even one game in Apple Arcade's top twenty. We've had four, making us one of the top mobile studios in the world. With our headquarters in the heart of Orange County and a growing studio in Utah, we're dedicated to our mission of bringing joy to others one game at a time. Ever since our flagship title Solitaire hit the Apple App Store on the day it opened in 2008, MobilityWare has been entertaining gamers around the world. With a product portfolio that includes beloved hits such as FreeCell, Spider, Spades, Hearts, Mahjong, Yatzy, Splash Sort, and Bubble Shooter Pop, our games have been downloaded over 600 MILLION times.

MobilityWare was recently named one of Built in LA's Best Places to Work for the fifth year in a row and we've been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Orange County five times by the Orange County Business Journal and OC Register. While we're proud to be the company behind some of mobile gaming's most popular titles, our most important achievement is creating a work environment that encourages the professional growth and engagement of all our team members.

Do we have your attention yet? Here are just some of the perks of working with us:

  • We offer medical (100% paid option), dental (100% paid), vision (100% paid), unlimited PTO/Vacation, life insurance (100% paid), and a 401K with competitive contribution.
  • Annual, all-inclusive company trip for you and a guest. Previous destinations include Hawaii, a Mexican Riviera Cruise, Las Vegas and Los Cabos!
  • In the office we offer things like free lunch, free snacks, and free drinks.
