How much do flex time jobs pay per hour?

As of Aug 29, 2026, the average hourly pay for flex time in Michigan is $25.05, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $12.24 and $30.40 per hour, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is flex time?

Flex time, short for flexible working hours, is a work arrangement that allows employees to choose their start and end times within certain limits set by their employer. Unlike traditional 9-to-5 schedules, flex time gives workers the freedom to adjust their work hours to better suit their personal needs and responsibilities. This can help improve work-life balance, reduce commuting stress, and increase job satisfaction. However, core hours—when employees are required to be present—may still apply, depending on company policy.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a flex time position, and why are they important?

To excel in a Flex Time position, strong time management, self-motivation, and the relevant core competencies for the specific job are essential. Familiarity with remote collaboration tools like Slack, Zoom, or project management platforms such as Asana or Trello is often required. Excellent communication, adaptability, and accountability are vital soft skills for maintaining productivity and team cohesion in a flexible schedule environment. These skills ensure that deadlines are met, work quality remains high, and team goals are achieved regardless of varying work hours.

How does working in a flex time role impact collaboration with team members who have different schedules?

In a flex time role, team members may start and end their workdays at varying times, which can pose challenges for real-time collaboration. To overcome this, teams often rely heavily on digital communication tools, shared calendars, and scheduled core hours where everyone is expected to be available. Clear communication and proactive planning are key to ensuring projects stay on track and all members remain informed. This structure allows for autonomy while still supporting effective teamwork.

While both roles may require similar credentials and work in the same environment, their scheduling and purpose differ significantly.

As an employee-owned logistics company (ESOP), we value your time and understand that life doesn’t always follow a set schedule. That’s why we offer flex-time driving positions that let you choose when and how much you work.

Whether you want part-time hours, seasonal work, or the flexibility to work based on weather or availability, Inontime lets you take the wheel—literally and figuratively. You’ll get competitive pay, overtime opportunities, and access to profit sharing.

What We Offer:

  • Flexible Scheduling
  • Competitive Hourly Pay
  • Quarterly Profit Sharing (after 1 year)
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • 401(k) with 4% Company Contribution – No match required
  • Company-Provided Uniforms
  • Shift Premiums – 10% additional pay between 6 PM – 5 AM

Available Shifts:

  • Flex-Time: This role has great flexibility working primarily 2-3 days a week on first shift.  Currently our need is on Monday and Friday (between 7 AM and 2 PM)

The Role:

  • Requires regular lifting (up to 50 lbs.) bending, and handling of some power tools.
  • Packing/Unpacking orders, order pulling and put away.  Banding skids.
  • Requires the ability to operate lift truck equipment.

Why Inontime?
Our flex-time roles give you the ability to choose your schedule while still providing access to ESOP benefits, quarterly profit sharing, and competitive pay. You get the flexibility you need without giving up the professional support and ownership mentality that sets us apart.

This role offers competitive compensation and profit sharing, non-participation required 4% 401k, and the opportunity to become an owner through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP).

Requirements:

Some of the warehouse requirements include:
