We are seeking a part-time lecturer to teach CHEM 533: Polymer Chemistry in the Fall 2026 semester. The course introduces the basics of polymer synthesis, covering traditional polymerization techniques (free‑radical, anionic chain, step‑growth) as well as newer methods. Students will learn about the preparation of advanced block, star, and brush copolymers, semi‑conducting and biodegradable polymers, and the fundamentals of structure and physical properties of polymers, along with methods of characterization.

Qualifications
  • Master of Science in Chemistry
  • Experience teaching chemistry at the college level
  • Compliance with the California State University Out‑of‑State Employment Policy (employment must be within California)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctor of Philosophy in Chemistry
  • Experience teaching a course in analytical chemistry or instrumental analysis
  • Demonstrated intercultural competence and a commitment to serving a diverse campus community
Salary & Compensation
  • Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,249 per full‑time month
  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer A – AY: $5,507 - $6,677 per full‑time month
  • CSU Classification Salary Range Lecturer B – AY: $6,221 - $13,224 per full‑time month
